Dan Murphy's and Other Wine Deals

Another random thing, I used a gift card to pay for it but they said they couldn't leave the order unattended at my house when using a gift card, something to do with fraud...

Not entirely random - stolen/compromised credit cards are often used to buy online gift cards that are emailed to throw-away email addresses. Goods are shipped to addresses where the owners either have no involvement, or have plausible deniability (package addressed to XYZ, but the people living there are ABC)

More of a brag post of the weekend's find, but also a reminder that BWS seems to be on a clearance cycle again..

3x Grant Burge Filsell 2013 @$15ea
1x Waipara Hills Pinot Gris 2014 @$7
1x Devils Lair Hidden Cave Chardonnay 2015 @$8
1x Louis Auger NV Champagne @$15

all half off standard price, with another 25% off any six bottles. Not to sound cheap, but I'll drink ANY Champagne if it's $15 a bottle!

That was certainly the case when they "deleted" Taittinger. I picked up a handful of bottles for $28 (and a lot of Duperrey) by driving around to different stores.

Speaking of which I need to have a Duperrey party to get rid of all that stuff.

Steady - Thank you for the heads up about BWS. I did a drive around a half dozen stores and got some bargains. I was served by a colleague's son at one store who told me that they are deleting a number of lines, hence the crazy prices (and stacked promotions).

Duperrey Premier Cru Brut NV - $50 ($35 in a 6, $33.25 WISH)
Duperrey Brut Rose NV - $27.50 ($19.25 in a 6, $18.29 WISH)
Taittinger Brut Reserve NV - $40 ($28 in a 6, $26.60 WISH)
Joseph Perrier Cuvée Royale Brut NV - $30 ($21 in a 6, $19.95 WISH)

The pick for me is the Taittinger, but good prices across the board.

Here were the prices - so not too bad, but Taittinger is the only one I would buy again.

For those fans of Wynns V&A Lane 2012 Shiraz (i'm certainly one), winemarket have it as a secret label for $36 a bottle Buy Wine Online & Cheap Wine Deals Australia - WineMarket
Happy to report that 'happybanker' still works for 20% off (if you've not already used it). Another ~8% cashback via pricepal/cashrewards brings the bottles down to under $26each delivered - I remember Vinomofo were selling these at $29.90 a bottle, so it's as good a price as you'll find.
