Missed out on the V&A Lane from Winemarket ... Sold out!

Does anyone know what the secret Eden valley Shiraz 2009 and 2010 for $39 odd a bottle is?

Hi all.
Winemarket have 2012 Leasingham Bin 56 at $78 for 6 and free freight.
after the code happybanker it is $62.40 and then cash rewards after that.
Works out at about $9.50 a bottle.
Cheers Birdyzone

That's a bit of a hard question. I'd say at the full winemarket price ($39.83) it's a no. Even at 20% off it's only a maybe for me, but that is likely because i picked up a case at christmas at approx $22.50 a bottle after all discounts/cashbacks. For that price it's a yes for me. I guess ultimately I wanted more from the wine (that Eden Valley cool-climate nuance that can sometimes shine through), and that nuance is barely there. It's well made for sure, and nice drinking, but if I had to spend even $30 a bottle and had a choice of Wynns V&A Lane and this i'd go for a Wynns.

Thanks. Is it worth it?

Thanks for the detailed reply. Annoyed that I missed out on the V&A Lane!

FWIW I found the two quite different - the 2009 was far more restrained than the 2010, which was much spicier. Didn't keep detailed notes.

Anyone watching the 'people of the vines' series featured on DM's Youtube channel? Hosted by Tyson Stelzer. A good watch.

It was on QANTAS IFE sometime last year. I watched it on the 332s back and forth to PER. I enjoyed it.

Placed an order tonight with United Cellars who are having a clear-out prior to moving their warehouse. Primrose Park Mclaren Vale Shiraz $13.99, United Cellars Yangarra Shiraz $17.99.

Not amazing prices, but the basket pressed Yangarra has become a favourite.

Just ordered a bottle of the Shiraz, along with way too many cases of beer due to the 5.5% cashback deal @ CR.
