Dan Murphy's and Other Wine Deals

For the fizz lovers... Dan's has some ok deals on Moet/Veuve & Mumm... but add in the cash rewards offer and WISH and you're well under $40 a bottle for Moet/Mumm ($45 for Veuve) - I would suggest good value given current AUD v EUR

Are you sure it's the same discount for every product? This isn't normally the case. Beer and sparkling wine usually has a lower level of discount.

Thanks for the pick up Dr Ralph - I just double checked the Ts and C.. it says plus 10% cash back in the ad but is in fact only 4.5% cash back for sparkling (10% for wine)

I don't think I've ever seen the top level of reward for sparkling. This is usually reserved for red wine.

I'd likely have jumped on it myself if it has been 10% of French Champagne.

I just received a flyer for this in my letterbox:

Peppermint Grove - Cabernet Merlot - 2011 (12 bottles per pack) - The Growers

Has anyone tried these before? Halliday gave the 2010 87 from what I can tell. Not fabulous, but perhaps value for the price?
Hmm very interesting, very cheap. Have you ever gone to a pizza place that offered a nine dollar pizza when your normal preferred is about fourteen and found the cheapy tasted like cardboard and how you wished you had simply paid more. Then imagine eleven more pizzas just like the first. Not saying this wine is a pizza, but find three other mates to share the punt. At these prices, grayswines would be a better choice after reading the odd review.

My missus likes Mumm and doesn't mind Lanson, so the 2 pack for $70 (max 3 per day) minus Wish minus cash rewards with free shipping on a 6-pack ($210) is a winner here today. Might order one or 2 more in the coming days.

lol beefarmer, hope you're wrong, because I just bought a case of the Fox and Gordon (based on your review) for $10 each and my usual is double that :)

I am assuming you bought this 2014 cab from VM...if so, you should be kissing me after you've had your first bot. On second thoughts, a man hug will suffice. You are lucky. I paid five per cent more for it.

Some good deals popping up all over the place. Purchased a pack with two each of Lanson, Moet & Veuve on Winemarket using 'cloud20' code. Came down to a shade under $35 a bottle after pricepal/cashrewards cashback.

Email today from cellarmasters is giving 30% off using code 'SUPER'. Brings Veuve Cliquot down to $42 bottle before pricepal/cashrewards cashback (if any).

Re: Dan Murphy's and Other Wine Deals - Champagne

20% off pick your own mixed dozens for white wines only at wine direct using WHITE20. Referals via the referal thread or pm get another $25 off for first buyers.

Usually have a 30% off all wines every 6 months or so but might still be of interest to some

With Christmas fast approaching, I am thinking that WineMarket deal for 2 Veuve, 2 Lanson and 2 Moet at $34/$35 a bottle (using Cashrewards and the 20% code) is the best deal of the day. Two cases ordered.

Thanks for the intel Carwashhair. Much appreciated.

Is there a way to use multiple 'Wish Cards' on CM? I can only get it to accept 1 x $200 card. Am I doing something wrong?

Veuve seems to be gone from cellarmasters site?

Re: Dan Murphy's and Other Wine Deals - BWS clearance

BWS clearance still throwing up a few goodies. Very happy with my purchases - the following are final prices paid in a six bottle buy from BWS Ashfield (who still have some Yalumba Signature, LTC Pierro, Stonier, Paringa, Descendant of Squid Ink, maybe a Parker First Growth and a couple more) (DM's sixer price in Brackets):

d'Arenburg D'Arrys Siraz Grenache 2012 - $7.70 ($15.95)
Plantagenet Shiraz 2012 - $17.85 ($37.99)
Mollydooker Blue Eyed Boy 2013 - $19.95 ($43.70)
Parker First Growth 2008 - $38.50 ($94.99, has been as low as $44 recently)

Re: Dan Murphy's and Other Wine Deals - BWS clearance

I'm sure these are location specific specials, but today at DM's Campbelltown I got:

This https://www.danmurphys.com.au/product/DM_326467/tscharke-only-son-tempranillo for $15 (2010 vintage)

And this https://www.danmurphys.com.au/product/DM_705722/tscharke-the-master-montepulciano for $15 (2009 vintage)

May be worth checking your local DM store as the Campbelltown had at least 40 different items discounted.

UPDATE: I visited 2 other DM's this afternoon (Menai & Corrimal). Nothing of note in either of those. Campbelltown probably had a good share of decent bottles marked down because of its location.

Of all the tips, tricks and advice I've found on this site, this one (for me) takes the cake as the best, most fortuitous one of the year! :D

As it turns out, I just happened to be down the road from that very same BWS Ashfield when I read your post this arvo. Turns out that racing up escalators can be quite the exercise :D

Anyway, I cradled that final bottle of Parker First Growth like it was a baby. Throw in the 30% discount and it's like Christmas has come early

My purchase included:

  • Parker First Growth 2008 ($50 odd)
  • Arrogant Frog Rose (always tremendous value; down to $10)
  • Arrogant Frog Shiraz 2014 (never tried but I hear it's great; down to $10 or so)
  • Jacob's Creek Reserve Shiraz 2014 (Limestone Coast; down to $11)
  • Jacob's Creek Reserve Shiraz 2013 (Barossa; down to $11)
  • Some random el-cheapo Shiraz 2014 ($4 or thereabouts; some turps purely to make up the numbers... the cleanskin was $1 more!)

Bought one bottle of each, and all prices quoted are before the 30% discount.

In the end, the six bottles in total came to a fraction over $100, discounted to a mere $77
