On Sunday 12 November, 5J40 from SYD to MNL, the 1300 hours (A333 RP-C3343) took off at 1518. MNL arrival should be at 2006 hours, 116 minutes behind time.

On Wednesday 6 December, 5J40 (1300 hours SYD up to MNL, A333 RP-C3348) was in the sky at 1415 so it will be at least 40 minutes late arriving.

Single runway operations (runway 25) at SYD on Saturday 12 May 2018 have caused many delays with 5J40, the 1145 hours SYD - MNL (A333 RP-C3347) taking off at 1258 hours. Arrival should be at 1903 tonight, 53 minutes late, but way better than competitor QF19 that is 100 plus minutes late.

On Sunday 1 July 2018, 5J40 from SYD to MNL (RP-C3341) took off at 1239 despite scheduled departure of 1145, so arrival should be at 1920, 70 late after holding close to destination.

A333 RP-C3347 on the inaugural MNL - MEL 5J49 arrived on Tuesday 14 August at 1619, 29 late.

The returning flight 5J50 took off from MEL at 1741, 10 - 15 minutes late with MNL arrival predicted as 0010 hours on Wednesday 15 August, 55 minutes late.

Due to the MF runway excursion at 2356 hours on Thursday 16 August and consequent 36 hour closure of MNL main runway 06/24, 5J39 (RP-C3346), the 2325 hours Sturday 18 redeye from MNL down to SYD took off at 0232 hours on Sunday so arrival should be at 1202 hours, 107 late. This will delay 5J40 returning until at least 1325 in its departure.

UPDATE: 5J39 is not arriving until 1241, 146 minutes late due to holding to the west of Pokolbin.

Tuesday 21 August 2018 finds 5J49, the early morning 0605 hours MNL down to MEL that took off at 0644 (A333 RP-C3344) arriving at 1624, 34 minutes tardy.

On Thursday 23 August 2018, the 0605 MNL - MEL (5J49, A333 RP-C3345) took off at about 0655, arriving at 1622, 32 late. The return 5J50, the 1705 hours then was airborne at 1749 with arrival delayed to Friday 24 at a projected 0032 hours, 77 late.

A333 RP-C3344 on 5J49 (0605 hours MNL down to MEL that was in the sky at a delayed 0708 hours) looks to be arriving at 1631, 41 late. The 1705 hours 5J50 ex MEL back to MNL will be tardy.

Thursday 30 August 2018 has seen 5J40, the 1145 hours SYD up to MNL (RP-C3347, an A333) taking off at 1316. Arrival is estimated as 1903, 53 late.

One I had missed was that on Thursday 20 September 2018, 5J49 from MNL to MEL arrived at 1706, 76 late but the returning 5J50 did not take off until 0102 hours (early morning) on Friday 21 instead of pushing back at 1705, so MNL arrival was at 0652 hours, 457 minutes late. Aircraft was A333 RP-C3348.

5J50, the 1705 hours SYD - MNL (A333 RP-C3343) took off at 1802 with arrival said to be 0022 on Friday 28 instead of 2315 tonight.

One I had missed but that was interesting was on 9 October 2018, this Tuesday 1805 hours MEL up to MNL 5J50 with A333 RP-C3343 took off at 1946 but diverted to CRK, arriving at about 0115, then did not take off until 0707 hours on Wednesday 10, arriving MNL at 0736.

I do not know if passengers were able to reclaim bags in CRK and be processed through immigration for a bus trip the 80 or 90kms to Manila.

This looks to be a flight affected by the normal NAIA airport closure from 0130 to 0330 daily, a shorter curfew than SYD. It's apparently for runway (and taxiway) maintenance not specifically to reduce noise.

As this is an LCC one wouldn't get free STPC accommodation (normally).

5J49, the 0600 hours MNL down to MEL (Tuesday 13 November 2018, A333 RP-C3345) did not take off until 0650 so arrival is estimated at 1735, 45 minutes late. This will delay the returning 5J50.

On Thursday 22 November, strong winds at SYD have resulted in most flights using runway 25.

5J40, the 1215 hours SYD - MNL (A333 RP-C3348) was still, at 1349 hours, queueing for takeoff so it will be at least 80 minutes late arriving.

Thursday 29 November 2018 finds 5J40 (1215 hours lunchtime SYD up to MNL) not having taken off until 1320. RP-C3345 (A333) should arrive at 1810 hours, 45 late.

On Saturday 1 December 2018, 5J40 (1215 hours SYD - MNL) was in the sky at 1311 with A333 RP-C3346. Arrival looks to be at about 1759, 34 late.

5J50 (Thursday 6 December, the 1805 hours MEL up to MNL with A333 RP-C3348) took off at 1907. Anticipated arrival is 2357 tonight, 42 late.

Saturday 8 December sees 5J50 from MEL up to MNL (A333 RP-C3344, the 1805 hours) not airborne until 1901. Arrival is estimated at 2345, half an hour behind schedule.
