These delays of yours really are getting ridiculous when approx. 95% of posts are yours and many of the airlines you have nominated few here would fly on.

Limewood, you've made this point before.

the delays are not 'mine' - they are a real inconvenience to travellers who are people just like you. Not all delays are the fault of an airline, but some are.

You don't have to read the threads if you don't want to - there are only two things compulsory in Australia.

AFF members travel on a wide range of airlines, as do Australians generally.

I don't usually post arrival delays of under half an hour even though a flight arriving more than 15 minutes late is regarded as 'late' for statistical purposes, but the aim is to give prospective passengers a 'feel' for how each airline performs. While flight histories do not necessarily mean that your or my flight on a particular day will be punctual or delayed, the record can point to systemic problems or (in the case of an airline like JL) normally excellent punctuality.

Many other AFF posts or threads are of no interest to me, but I simply ignore them and don't bother opening the page.

Well above 1,000 'likes' have been recorded for the delays/ cancellations threads and one, the QF thread, has had 220,000 plus views and about 900 'likes.'

Since you complained about 5J, could I point out that in relation to nonstop SYD - MNL flights it competes with PR and QF, so there is every chance that many travellers on this increasingly popular route may want to have at least a quick look as to which airline appears to have the best, or conversely the worst, on time or cancellations record. With three nonstop operators in the market, leisure type fares can be fairly similar between the three, bearing in mind that with an LCC such as 5J one has to pay extra for bags in the hold and meals, so other factors may then be useful to be assessed by users - and punctuality and cancellations are two of these.

So simply don't read them if you're not interested.

And just so you know, there are frequent AFF contributors such as Albatross710 who may patronise 5J quite regularly, plus many more AFF users who may do so occasionally, or at least consider it given it carries a similar number each month to Virgin Australia (VA.)

At least one moderator on AFF enjoys reading the flight delays/ cancellations threads that were originally just for QF but given the very helpful and appropriate suggestion from AFF member mannej who righly implied that this was biased against QF, I then expanded it to try to cover all RPT airlines operating within, or in and out of Australia.

On advice from a moderator, I excluded airlines such as Alliance that do a lot of trips to and from mining towns carrying FIFO employees.

When I didn't post anything for a few weeks, one kind member even asked if I was OK and many others then contributed, which was humbling. But the threads aren't about me or any other single AFF member: they're about trying to give prospective (and booked) travellers an idea of what occurs and importantly how airlines handle delays, cancellations and when applicable, compensation.

Doubtless you are an experienced traveller Limewood, but many Australians or others are not, and even those of us who are fortunate enough to have had the time, money and inclination to travel need to learn.

I find it uplifting when someone reports 'on the spot' about a particular delay or how it was handled by the airline.
