Appropriate Behaviour in the QF Lounges

I have also seen some dubious standards of dress, and experienced noisy children running around, however last Sunday night in the Perth QP, I was subjected to very ordinary language. 11.00pm, after a very tiring day and a group of book heads thought they were in their local front bar- the F word was flowing freely but it was the loud C bomb dropped regularly that I found disgusting

I once remember when reading the QP membership booklet some years ago (maybe back in the 90's) I noted that "the Qantas club [was] a discerning business environment where members and guests [were] expected to dress and behave accordingly" which really is a far cry from what you see there today. Rather disappointing in my view.

I duly & distinctly recall that era in the lounges always being of a most pleasant experience, often a spartan smattering of kind, well dressed patrons & appreciative wonderful staff complemented with generous food & drink offerings & comfortable ambience.
Oh how much times have changed.. I do have some photos of the QP BNE DOM & INT in 1995. - Succinctly differing to 2012.

Perhaps a 'then and now' posting?

I think purchasing and eating fast food, when a much higher quality is freely available is insulting to the host. A person of any decency wouldn't carry out such an act.

I agree - 30 years ago you wouldn't see people in singlets and thongs in the lounge. Anyone unfortunate to have a tattoo would cover it up. Of course, mobile phones didn't exist, so the loud talking wasn't a problem. One could go there and relax. Now it's a battle just to find a seat at peak times.

I must admit, it's still better than some of the lounges in some busy European and US airports, where free food and drink isn't always available, or very limited.

I saw this a few weeks back in the BNE J lounge

There was someone who was "mildly famous" and had 2 hot females hanging off his side.. Of course he has his sunglasses on while inside the lounge.. Never took them off....

One the hot females wandered off for a while and came back with Hungry Jacks.......

Inspired inquisition for a request to post/send some discreet photos please
Sensationalism always sells..

To me, anyone wearing sunglasses inside is just an ignorant barbarian (unless there is a medical condition). They don't realise that others think they're just a joke. He probably spends more time looking in the mirror than at the females.

Definitely one of those people!

They started talking about a restaurant in SYD and he called up and TRIED to make a booking and was told sorry they are full....

Now that would be what I consider disgraceful behaviour. Are we merely wannabe paparazzi? I hope not ...

I think I must be very fortunate not to have been exposed to any of this behavour.

*shudder*
You just need to be in the right place to see it.

A couple of weeks ago in the BNE Business lounge one of the lounge reception staff comes in with a glass and sticks glass into ice box to fill with ice. There are 2 tongs sitting in front of ice box. I am hoping she used a fresh glass but I do not know where her hands been. Scratching her cough, picking her nose, cleaning her ears etc.

That is disgusting. I know many would not care but I would love to know how people have developed this behaviour?
