I received my HOYTS movie voucher but havent received the REBEL gift card and 20000 Platinum edge card sign up bonus points. Oh they stopped posting DSE bonus points for me (like everyone else) way before the deal's expiry date as well.
 
Got my 5x DS promotion back on my cards...valid until end of June.
Now I am a happy guy again!
 
I called Amex today and they said that the promotion mentioned finished on 31 December 2010. Yes I kniow we all get a different story.

Cannot get any confirmation that I am still on that promotion.

Apparently there were multiple promotions at the same time, postcard, over the phone and MR website.

Apparently anyone can still earn points at D!ick Smith until 30 June 2011 as long as the spend is $2000 or more.
 
Okay so today was day 7, of the 5-7 days that I was told it would take to receive a call back in regards to missing Hotel Club points.

Of course no phone call, and no points in my MR account

Amex have another 3-5 days to call back in regards to my 2nd phone call for other missing bonus points, but I am not expecting a call.

Lots of promises made when you ring them, but when they say you are going to call back a customer in 5-7 days you call them back regardless of if they have the answer. All they need to say is it's just a quick courtesy call to say we are still waiting for Marketing/Membership rewards to get back to us, but just letting you know we haven't forgotton about your call.

Amex love to send reminders via SMS/email that your bill is due, but can't follow up with basic customer service skills.

It's common courtesy and expected with a so called platinum card.....especially when I was assured of a call back.....

I will continue to spend up at **** Smith and will expect all bonus points to be posted within 8-10 weeks from the 30th of June which is the promo end date.

Not calling them again for now as it's a waste of time

My annual fee is due around July so I can see quite a bit of haggling occurring...

They won't confirm it unless you tell them you have a printout of the 30th June date, as soon as you say that you are magically enrolled again........... OR you are just told that to get off the phone.........

Multiple promotions huh.... I hope you were not enrolled in all of them and are missing ALL the bonus points..... You know the September 2008 multi-enrollment promotion........ :shock::D:mrgreen:
 
Well I registered for the 10x AAMI points and spent several days with both AAMI who knew nothing about even accepting AMEX again for insurance let alone any promotions, AMEX said I wouldn't get the points unless AAMI said it was a new insurance policy and reported it as such to them not the 6 renewals I had coming up, I got AAMI to reduce their policies since I have so damm many with them since I was supposedly not going to get my points, statement came thru, there are my 10x points from AAMI there, but the one that I swapped to GIO because they said they would honour new accounts didn't register any new ones. Sigh so i'm 30,000+ points better off but they said I wouldnt get them lol, can't work em out but i'm not giving them back!

For both cases I was promised a call back in 5-7 days.
 
I think that Amex probably runs more MR and drive-to-spend campaigns than any other provider in Australia.

Personally I've never had a problem with getting my vouchers or points from many campaigns.

This looks more like a run of bad luck that is likely held up by these other third party companys being slack in sending through the new customer data to Amex.
 
I called AMEX 2 weeks ago in regard to my overdue 20K MR points bonus for signing up Platinum Edge card. After 1 week my 20K MR points have been posted successfully.
 
I got a big whack of HotelClub Bonus Points recently and also just got my AAMI ones - what an awesome offer of 10x Bonus Points, great way to kick off their acceptance of AMEX - finally!!! :p:p:p

AAMI used to accept AMEX a number of years ago but stopped due to merchant fees and the small number of payments they took. It came back due to now being part of Suncorp and GIO accepting AMEX.
 
I just received my 20K join up bonus pomits with my platinum redge card, i think i rang up a week ago and queried why they hadnt posted yet - it was escalated to someone in marketing/promos etc

now i have to work on getting my NIB 10K miles - they should have posted by now!
 
I'm still waiting for

  • 75,000 Bonus Points for the Platinum Charge Card
  • Woolworths Gift Card Promotion - called now and they're claiming that I was deregistered from the promotion on 25th November, although this is the first I've heard about it. They're investigating.
  • **** Smith promotion - they haven't been giving me points since January - they're still investigating and this has been dragging on for months now.

In a lot of cases, Amex seem to try and tell you you aren't on the promotion and try to ask you to provide the onus of proof that you are on the promotion - I'm now going to take screenshots of everything, including the confirmation screen when I sign up. This is getting ridiculous.

1. De registered from a promotion... That's a new excuse, except back in September 2008....

Yep Amex love stopping/withholding points from promotions. They do make you prove they are wrong which is always great customer service.

I am now 3 weeks and counting for a promised call back that would be within a week!

Always take screenshots!!!!!!
