I was told 100 times no chance I would be comped Plat as I have been last 3 years - I finally relented and paid fee for SL to Gold - guess what - profile still showing Plat

Interestingly they told me that even if I paid I would drop to silver, so I decided to just take the Amex complimentary silver.

If you were Plat and didn’t requalify it’s auto SL to Gold for paid renewal - but for some reason they seem hell bent on steering Amex Plat holders into comp Silver via Amex - I don’t get it?

What about a status match, free Hilton Gold via the platinum card status matched to Accor Gold?

Just a question as I weren’t able to find an answer. But how long does Accor elite status last until you move down?

Oh well, I got the soft landing to gold anyway, even with the Amex complimentary membership, but probably next year will be down to silver as I won't earn gold status.

Renewed Accor Plus with Amex and was given Gold after having been given gifted Platinum by Accor the last few years.

Does anyone have any experience lending the Accor plus card to a friend for the restaurant discount? I expect it is technically not allowable, but would usually not be an issue? Is this correct?

Definitely against T&Cs, on the other hand I've never been asked for ID when using it at restaurants.

How have people gone using the electronic card in the app? I've yet to give it a try but it would mean one less card to think about.

Never had an issue, only drawback when dining with other "Accor Plus friends" (we managed to convert quite a few over the years...) is having to hand over a pile of smartphones to the waiter :)

Just having a look on the American Express website, and it says this in the Platinum card terms & conditions about Accor Plus membership:

20. Accor Plus Complimentary Membership. Accor Plus enrolment is required and available until 16 April 2021. Accor Plus benefit is available only to the Primary Platinum Card Member. Complimentary membership is annual within the benefit validity after which standard eligibility criteria applies...

Does this mean Amex is removing the Accor Plus benefit from 16 April?

Recently I've been trying to use my couple of free nights and pretty much everything I search for suggests it's not available for the dates I'm looking at. I haven't had the time to investigate in depth though. It's also painful that you can't just get the system to show you dates where it is available.

On the website do the search. Each hotel should have a link 'open rate calendar' which should help

Agree that it's painful - if it's helpful, I usually use the free night at the Sofitel in Darling Harbour and I find that almost without exception, I can never find 'free night' availability on a Saturday night (and from memory, not Friday night either), but I usually have luck with Sunday nights, unless it's eg, a long weekend.

Bloody hell I hope not, when I first signed up for the Platinum card I didn't really think much of this benefit, just saw it as a free hotel night once a year, but I've become quite attached to it now. The Red Hot Rooms specials and the dining discount are actually quite good.
Hopefully this is just when the current arrangement they have with Accor will end and they'll renew it before then.

Yes, I was similar - a bit like 'I'll never use it', but lovely to have a free night to use at whim for special occasions and the dining discount is more useful than I thought too.
