Doesn't a big shot like you have a PA or EA Wozza? :p :p

Sorry folks, I don't think I'll be able to get away from the conference to attend lunch. I hope you have a great time. Thanks again to DrSammyLee and Penegal for their company last night.

Thank you to Wozza, DrSammyLee and Katy for a lovely lunch.

The wine was okay too, surprising given who brought it  :p

And for your benefit Steady, we tried this gem from the Fo. Wozza got a photo of the bottle I think.

Punch Lance's Vineyard Yarra Valley Pinot Noir 2013 (27/10/2015 - [-]$55[/-] $49.90).

Drinking quite well now, but will certainly age well and open up over the next 5-7 years. The last glass was better than the first IMHO. I have 5 btls left.

I have a few of the Punch range and agree they're always great drinking.

Looking forward to the photo Wozza....

Dear Sydney AFF Wine Lovers and AFF visitors from far afield

Just spotted a banner add for a new wine bar / cellar door in the CBD when logging on for my ritual Wine Companion e-read on a Saturday morning. This place - Hand Picked Wines - looks good: Cellar Door

Requires a walk or train to the Central Station end of town, but could be worth a visit in January when we are all back.

Watch this space - post to follow ...

Seems to stock Handpicked Wines at full price (at least when I looked a couple of weeks ago at their website). On the other hand, a lot of their wine discounted online via VM, Cracka etc. not sure what the value proposition is...

I think the tasting room and/or bar / restaurant for a meet up event, rather than the cellar door / bottle shop.

Like you, I tend not to buy much at cellar doors.

After reading about lunch between Wozza, Katy, AnonymousCoward and penegal, made me realise I have two days in SYD next week (Mon & Tues). Still finalising appointments but will be in CBD during the days; between Kent, George and Circular Quay. penegal is lined up for lunch (either day), so will post more when I have definite movements.

Let us know QF WP. I will be floating around inbetween [-]drinks[/-] meetings. :p

You are in luck!

We have a planned lunch being organised for next Tuesday at Ambar, just above the food court of the MLC Centre on the corner of Martin Place and Castlereagh St, at 12:30 pm. You are both welcome to join us. It's our final one of the year.

Others are welcome to join us too. We'll need to know numbers so we bring enough bottles and so we can book the right size table (we struggled to get a seat at the last one).

Hope you can join us.

Wozza

I'm in Wozza - what type of red should I bring? Need to know by Mon AM as I'll be bringing from my modest collection at home...hmmmm, no maybe I'll just buy a bottle locally, it may get a little knocked around...

No need to bring anything - I think we have enough wine locally :)
Also, we'll probably finalise the wine list once we know what the weather's going to be like - our last lunch had 30+ degree heat, and the two cabernets we brought (from memory a 2005 Shadrach and a 2006 Coppermine Road) did not drink very well.

I have put it in my calendar at 12:00 Noon, hopefully I will be there by 1pm.
