thats a great way to go to the US, but CX F availability is not that great. Easier to fly JL in F to NRT and onwards in F to the USA.

nice - how do you go about searching JL availability? i've never flown with them.

Sign up to Awardnexus (for free) and you will see JL searches, amongst others. The allowance for free searches is very generous.

Agreed, but the whole purpose of routing via Europe is to use the stopover feature in Europe while visiting USA as well. FYI, the last such trip I booked was QF 9/10 First class and then BA first into US. But QF availability is extremely rare (especially on partner awards), so it usually CX J/F.

which would be a good europe country for a stopover? i know lhr is defintely out due to the high taxes. eg: plenty of availability and good connection

France (Paris) to continue to the USA on AA or US or Germany (Berlin) to go with Air Berlin

Just logged into my AA account and a pop up message asks for my US Dividend miles account number so as to match/combine accounts in the 2nd quarter 2015 - good to see they are sticking to their commitment.

This was flagged in a couple of blog posts as about to happen. All suggest you do this as it will stop them stuffing up any merge of accounts.

I just noticed this also and successfully merged accounts. I had a my address as El Segundo for AAdvantage and also had different email and phone numbers in the accounts so they wouldn't match until I tided this up.

Just tidying up my 2 accounts and I cannot get the USDM account to recognise an international ph no to match the AA account.

AA is OK, but USDM wont take it as an international phone and nowhere to put '61' in. And, it insists on a number in the account. :( Anyone else got a way around this?

I have no problem with USDM in entering an international phone number. The Primary Phone field allows you to change from North American number to International number (basically the former splits up the field into 3 subfields rather than 2). With the International Phone I put 61 (country code) in the first box and in the next box the 9 digit phone number (e.g. mobile number sans initial 0, or landline number sans initial 0 in area code).

Yes, that exactly what I tried to do but no luck this time. It works fine as long as I don't want to get that last number in there as well. I saved without the last number and will get on to them I suppose.

Yep appears my balances have been combined. Now have 200k at my disposal... not going crazy spending just yet - got no plans, plus that's not that many points. :)

I'm sure there's some of us here who may be looking at between 300k - 700k balances...

Don't have that many but the USDM sharing seems to have done wonders to my program to date miles!

My & +1s (really mine;))accounts have been merged with a nice balance now in each AA account:)

A friend's account (that I'm helping to manage) had some expired miles in the AA account. Upon merge, these are now reinstated!

We now have a couple of healthy balances but I'm inclined to get on with some bookings to beat any possible devaluation.

I can't see it at the moment but what will the new 18 month expiry date be? Will the total combined balance have the same date, presumably the furthest out date or is there some other formula?

A pity they don't still count all miles still for lifetime status.I would now get a card with 3 million miles on it and some more EVIPs to use.
