There are a couple/few current threads on these very subjects that will probably give you all the info you need, and that would be the fastest way of finding out what you particularly need to know. This very thread will help.

Thanks. Anyone able to help a little more than this gentleman?

Most received an email to change USDM account to a current AA account if they already had one, contact them.

Sorry yov've missed the USDM boat, I'm sure you cant do this now, but of course you could buy the current AA offer once only.

so i combined my accounts but forgot to the do the missus', and now she's had a new AA account created. Any ideas how to fix please? (she has balances in both so would be great to combine)
One of the emails AA sent out said that there would be a way to combine duplicate accounts after the merger. I'm in a similar situation, I didn't link accounts because I wanted to be able to make a US redemption right up to the last date pre-combo. I haven't received an email for the new AA account with the former US points in it yet, but I'm guessing that once the program merger is fully complete there will be details provided on how to do it.

I did read through this thread (as well as the 'current promo' thread) and I couldn't find anyone answering my question (Above is all that touched on the topic).

For those of us that didn't merge accounts and now have two AA accounts - are we able to buy the current promo in each account (old AA & new AA from USDM) for either
(a) them to be merged later on or
(b) to make two different bookings through?

I'd doubt if anyone has tried, personally think it would be a big risk.

Even if you didn't merge the accounts they should have been merged-the process is due to be completed by 8/4-so still a few hours to go US time.
If you had different addresses or email contact on your US and AA accounts they might not merge and you need to let AA know.
I wouldn't try buying the max on 2 different AA accounts.AA are tough on misuse of accounts and there is a mileage limit per year you can buy.Go over that and found out you can lose all your miles.Examples of that happening(not on this particular issue) over on FT when people try to game the rules.
