2024 Hilton Status Retention

No, it never worked that way. You had to eventually requal under your own steam to retain Diamond (or Gold) as applicable.

But if you fired off the SM early* in one year, you ought to have Diamond for the remainder of that year, all of the following year plus Jan-Mar the year after.

*April onwards if not earlier.

When did you get your VA -> HH match?
Like Happy Dude i am also confused. I have been Diamond since the Macquarie credit card days, covid extension, then i actually earned it through stays in 2022. In 2023 i only stayed about 25 nights which theoretically gets me nothing for 2024. Yet i received the same email as Happy Dude saying i will drop to Gold on 1st April 2024. My understanding was that i should drop to Silver.

If I am dropping to Hilton Gold that is annoying because i booked a couple of flights on Virgin to get eligible sectors so that i would be Velocity gold and then would get them to do a VV to Hilton gold status match. If the email is correct then i have spent money i need not have.

I guess all will be revealed on 1st April 2024.

The number of stays also matters. You can get Gold with 20 stays.

Nov 2018 I received an email from VA confirming selection of the 12 month (that answers that!) membership of HH Diamond. Dunno why I activated it then, my first Hilton booking was for ASP in Oct 2019 which never happened. I guess with the Covid extensions I stayed Diamond until now. The soft landing to Gold will be handy maybe.

HH Gold is actually reasonably useful. Should still include some sort of breakfast as well as an upgrade (if available).

The wording of the HH emails and app is very confusing. But no soft landing, so if your 2023 stays / nights / base points qualified for silver that’s what you should be. I contacted HH to confirm. Asked about any retention offer - which was 10 nights to gold or 20 to diamond, but with no status in the qualifying period until the 10 nights is achieve.

I logged into my Hilton Honors account today expecting to have lost my diamond status as I have not anywhere close to the nights or stays required but I'm still diamond? Does the system just take time to update, or have they decided to give some people an extension?

It can often take a few days.

Mine is still showing diamond, got the random message logged in (no email) that i'll be silver, waiting to trigger the VA SM

Now showing HH silver on the website. Still Diamond in the app, but the app has been totally useless the past few months, doesn’t even show prices.

Have you tried deleting and reinstalling?

Yep, several times. Unable to show prices for bookings, correct points balance and more. No digital keys.

I'm now silver too, despite the recent "heads up - your status is changing to gold based on your activity" emails. Hopeless right to the end!

So today I got another email from Hilton saying that they have revised my account and I am now back to member status. Total spend of $US 6000 should mean I easily requalified Silver but they now say 40000 of those points were from multiple your points promotion.
Pathetic.

I've dropped from Diamond to Gold, which is correct. Hopefully no further drops are coming my way !

Well Hilton denied me retaining silver because -"Further, as I can you have completed only 6 nights in last year that's why your tier is downgraded. In this criteria you were needed to complete 10 nights with 4 stays and 25,000 points."
Though the T&Cs have or between the 3 ways.
Then they sent me a survey as to how they did.
