Or is it only to use on partners I guess?

VA domestic I am not a fan of, but happy to burn miles VA to LAX and with EY

I've just transferred 30k points from Amex to Velocity, so will get 34,500 Velocity points to add to my 43,900 currently in Velocity. Will be useful at some stage to fly family around on trips - I need to fly revenue to try and obtain Partner Platinum (back down to 1,415 with 200+ in next 2 weeks).

Seems to have coincided with a reduction in the transfer rate to velocity and krisflyer on my cardservices (citi) platinum from an already average 1.5 : 1 to now 2 : 1. As is generally advised I was holding on to them to transfer (probably to krisflyer) when I had a specific redemption in mind. Sad day.

Woop! Thankfully Citibank is included this time around.. I've just paid an instalment of my wedding on my Citibank Signature this morning.. I'm not sure if to be excited over the points haul or scared of the money involved. :shock:

City did that a couple of months ago (see this thread). I was nearly to the 15K - if my Platium Visa was not fee free for life I would have tossed it by now. Anyhoo I dug up anther $1700 or so of international purchases and converted the 20K - I now have about 21 points.

Maybe systems haven't updated? Do we count on the extra 15% coming somewhere down the line or should we expect the 15% discount to be applied to City points first up?

Discounts finally appearing when going to book flights!

However SYD-LAX from 1st March onwards doesn't show any discount J fares ? Is that normal for Virgin to have different priced J fares ?

Depends on the card - for my 'platinum' it's 20K CB for 10K velocity - not all have the select ...

It'll show up in your VFF account when the transfer is made, as a separate entry on top of the regular points.
