Re: 15% discount on Award bookings & 15% bonus on CC Points Transfers for October 201

Does VA Business class allow an infant travelling with a parent? ie. are there 3 masks available per block of 2 seats? I found award flights for the family which are substantially cheaper in business than any seat economy so bit of a no brainer really (standard economy award sold out).

Re: 15% discount on Award bookings & 15% bonus on CC Points Transfers for October 201

Book it done it many times an infant in VA business

Re: 15% discount on Award bookings & 15% bonus on CC Points Transfers for October 201

Done. Now the 5 of us (well 4 + 1) are flying on Christmas day business class for <50k points and $49.73 SYD-OOL. Beats flying Jetstar economy for $700+ total one way...Was worthwhile moving the slider just under $50 co-pay instead of $70 max to avoid the additional $30+ dollar credit card fee.

More of the case where the 15% off award bookings was an extended part of that 15%/15% October Promotion

Re: 15% off Domestic and International Reward Seats?

The other promo was only for seats for travel between 1 October and 30 November 2013, as per below and had to be booked by 31 October like the points transfer 15% bonus. This promo has no travel date restrictions and seems to be an expansion on the previous offer.

This offer applies to Reward Seat and Any Seat bookings made on Virgin Australia marketed and operated flights between 1 October 2013 and 30 November 2013. Flights operated by partner airlines are not eligible for this offer. Any Seat refers to seats in any fare class available to the general public on Virgin Australia operated flights. Reward Seats and Any Seats are subject to availability and to the Velocity Membership Terms and Conditions and must be booked at www.velocityfrequentflyer.com.15% discount is only applicable to minimum Points pricing and does not apply to taxes, fees and surcharges which are payable in addition to Velocity Points redeemed. Any taxes, Booking and Service fees and surcharge components are not eligible for Points earn. Refunds and itinerary changes are permitted prior to travel, subject to a service fee, fare differences (if applicable) and fare restrictions as outlined on the Virgin Australia website

Re: 15% off Domestic and International Reward Seats?

This should go back to its own thread as it's in one that says;

  • 15% discount on Award bookings & 15% bonus on CC Points Transfers for October 2013
which is not correct

As per the thread contents where we have members booking flights well into the next year, its not for travel until Nov 30, if you read what you have quoted it says as much, offer applys for bookings made..... between Oct 1 and Nov 30. The terms and conditions are exactly the same then as they are now, which is not surprising since its the same part of the original dual offer.

Re: 15% off Domestic and International Reward Seats?

Virgin obviously has not updated the terms for this new offer on their website! The promo is for bookings made by 30 November with no travel date restrictions.

There were no travel date restrictions on the original offer, as I mentioned up thread we have people making bookings for next year, I did a few myself last month.

Re: 15% off Domestic and International Reward Seats?

The 15% off was only supposed to be for flights operated during Oct and Nov? so you got the 15% of flights past this period? on the promo that ended 31 Oct?

Re: 15% off Domestic and International Reward Seats?

Looks like greenfish posted this on 1st of November, seems I missed it as the thread title still says October 2013, can it be changed to November 13?

There was never any promo that ended October for 15% off (the offer email in October said Nov 30 end), while poorly worded (and probably why they have updated it), it was for flights booked until Nov 30 for no specific travel dates. The reference to flights operating is indicative of the requirement that it be VA metal, not actually flying by Nov 30.

Re: 15% off Domestic and International Reward Seats?

My email from Virgin clearly says ends 31 October, the terms stated flights operated between 01/10/13 and 30/11/13 and then greenfish posted on 1/11/13 that it appeared to have been extended to all travel dates and until end of November. That is pretty compelling.

Did you book in October for dates outside 01/10/13 and 30/11/13 and get 15% off? can 't seem to find posts saying anyone else did.

As I already said yes, and I have already linked to another member who booked for next year above your post !

Thanks VA - very timely

Cruiserette this morning completed o/w J Redemptions for the 2 of us LAX-MEL Sep 2014 - total pts reqd after 15% discount = 168K instead of 194K - total pts required to be transferred to secure same with 15% bonus abt 145K (pls don't quote me to exact no. pts I wasn't there - suffice to say quite a sweet deal the 15% both ends).

The terms and conditions have not changed from early October at all, you along with a few others are misreading them which is why I imagine they have added a clarification, there is a booking window but no travel windows, the reference to operating refers to the fact it must be VA metal.

Re: 15% off Domestic and International Reward Seats?

No one in thread, for the offer that ended 31 October said they booked flights for periods outside 01/10/13 and 30/11/13 and received 15% off the rewards seat redemption rate, plenty said they effectively got 15% off due to the 15% points bonus from transferring rewards points during the offer period.

"flights operated between" means what it does.

As I already said yes, and I have already linked to another member who booked for next year above your post !

Correct, the terms have not changed, Virgin haven't obviously updated the terms linked to this new offer, 15% off Domestic and International Reward Seats

Book any Reward Seat or Any Seat on flights marketed and operated by Virgin Australia by 30 November 2013 and receive a 15% discount*. You can take advantage of this offer in any cabin class and the discount applies to any Reward Seats or Any Seats on flights that are open for booking during the duration of the promotion. Best of all, there are no travel date restrictions.
however the new offer was first posted by greenfish on 01/11/2013 to include no travel date restrictions, co-inciding with the end of the previous offer on 31 October. I just booked some flights for April next year that had 15% off now but not during the offer that expired 31 October as per the terms of that offer.

No, the key word is "bookings." The term "operated" refers only to the airline operating the flight, not the day the flight occurs.

Under your interpretation, VA marketed reward seats on DL metal (if they even exist?) between 1 October and 30 November would be part of the promotion.
