Just noticed this board now had 9,928 (oops, not 9.929) posts in total. I wonder which post and poster will make the magic 10,000the post!

Congratulations AFF and all the contributors.

NM, it's a bit confusing as that's not the wording from the Front Page. It actually reads:

Does an article equal a post or a thread??

Well, since it has now climbed to 9939, I assume it is posts not threads.

Between them, NM and Lindsay Wilson account for an impressive 15% of the posts here. Pretty good effort from the pair of them I would say.

And how many of those posts are regarding AA plat challenge? Perhaps we should take a commission from AA  .

Thanks, oz_mark. More are answering questions than personal posts, but I am always learning from others as well. The day I stop learning about FF or hotel programs will be a sad day :(

That's the joy of having another BB to leverage answers (and information gathering). I might have been on this Board , or been a QFF longer than NM, but I am a novice compared with NM's breadth of knowledge. He is one of a couple of BB posters that I look up to  and enjoy inbibing a HP in the BNE QP with (as regularly as we can). With both of us travelling for work means they are probably not as regular as we would wish.

9,951 at present. Climbing steadily, so it should be late today or tomorrow that the magic 10K is achieved. Yes, I agree it is posts, NM...

Learning is a continual process. And being able to share the things we learn with like-minded people is a good thing. And things change so quickly in the FF and travel space that these types of environments are the only way we can keep up with what is changing.

And as an engineer, I enjoy the process of optimising solutions. Remember that it is the optimist that says the glass is half full, the pessimist that says it is half empty, and the engineer that say the glass is twice as big as it needs to be. So I really enjoy the challenge of optimising my travel experience as well - and for me that means achieving and retaining the benefits associated with FF membership as well as travelling in as much comfort as I can manage.

And yes, we need to inbibe a few more HPs again. Its been a while now. Was my birthday the last time we got together?

I agree, both yourself and NM have made some valuable contributions to others who have posted questions on this board. I feel such a novice compared to both of you.

Agree. Like any good team e.g. Starsky & Hutch, Bodie & Doyle, Batman & Robin, Hawkeye & BJ and the biker cops from "Chips", when one is away (travelling, i presume) the other saves the day  :p .

I'm just trying to get the imagery of NM and Lindsay dressed as Batman and Robin out of my head :). But indeed, a good team, and between them they seem to have pretty much all the bases covered.

Now just which one of use is wearing out undies on the outside in your vision? Personally I prefer the Bodie and Doyle analogy, but can picture Lindsay as a few of the others mentioned  .

But the best thing about this place is the collective knowledge. And there is lots of that from many, many posters. And I keep coming here to make sure I am getting the most out of my experience and learning from everyone else.

    Posts=9978 now!

NM and I are just lucky that we were the most knowledgeable when we first started on this BB...thus we've had to answer a lot of questions. Others now share the load and for one, I am greatful. There are many questions that I have no knowledge...but I know who will probably give advice.

Watch out for serfty, another poster whom I have immense respect for his level of knowledge on OW - add to that Kiwi Flyer for *A matters. This list is not exhaustable.

I'm fortunate to have met these fine gentlemen (plus many others) through Flyertalk meetings. Maybe one day we'll have Australian Frequent Flyer meetings as well  .

The other important point is to meet Clifford Reichlin, our esteemed founder. We've spoken but been unable to match our available times in MEL.

And where we would be all be without the 8 * DSN? A fountain of knowledge. Then there are the accountants and credit card experts. And the odd lawyer that pops around every now and then (yes, I know, all lawyers are odd, just like the accountants).
Yes, we should ... and in the BNE QP of course  . I don't get down to MEL much these days. Lived there for 5.5 years a while back, but decided that 15 winters was to many and it was time to come back home and thaw out :p . I think I have two domestic trips to MEL in the last year, and connected through MEL airport on international trips at least two more times.

I have had the pleasure of email exchange with Clifford on a few occasions. Thanks again for hosting such a helpful site that is specific to Aussie travellers.

Is there a prize involved for the 10,000th post?

If so then NM, and Lindsay Wilson should share the 10,000 post and the prize for their valued contribution to AFF. :) :) :)

I think so, as we haven't had any BNE QP visits since then..well, we've both been there, just not at the same time. ozmerish wants to get together with you and me and chat about DONEx's. I suggested to him that I'd do all the listening and drinking and you two can do all the talking. Don't think that was quite what he had in mind though

This should be the 9,991th post. The prize should go to Clifford, who though up the idea of getting this board up and running. Does anybody remember the old version??

    Re: Top posters

...and I have had the pleasure of meeting Lindsay Wilson, NM, Kiwi Flyer and serfty. What these guys don't know about flying, and FF points / miles is NOT worth knowing!!!

Thanks kpc, I'm in illustrious company and I can vouch for your veracity as well...but I'd run 4th in the knowledge stakes against these three...
