It let me sign up for both... wonder if I'll actually get both lots of point.

I rang up Amex hotline today and they confirmed that I am registered for both promotion (mybonus and earnpoints) ...... I ask for the T&C and the operator said that it should come with the marketing materials that I got ....

a round one knockout??

Is this the visible face of the pugilistics between the rude roo and the very ethical (+ your adjective.. ) old school amex ??
( queensberry rules meets the pub champion ??).

Many savvy holders will go elsewhere .. but I suspect the vast majority of folks will simply dump their hundreds of thousands of bonus points straight int qff... awwwwww

Your move roo :D

I've managed three transactions this morning already :!:

Make that four. Part payed my Telstra Bill.

Thank you very much, seriously looking at the multiple pays per shop angle.

The trick is finding shops where the payment process is relatively quick, and they don't have a minimum charge. Coles is a good one as long as the queues are short. I don't recommend bothering in DJs, you'll be there all day :)

I already have 13 transactions sine 10th September, and that was before knowing about this promotion. So at least one chunk of 20 transactions per month is my normal spending pattern.

While a day in store at DJ's could easily generate several tarnsactions on several floors, they are going to add up to a bit :)

A quick review of my Aug/Sep statement revealed 46 transactions

You guys talking about buying coffee, etc with your AE, where are you? Here (Sydney cbd) I have a hard time anywhere other than coles using AE for small amounts!

I'm in Melbourne and many of the smallish cafes etc take Amex.

I've started buying the cheap coffee from my local petrol station ;) and not the nice stuff you get from the local cafe.

Try 7 Eleven, they accept Amex with no minimum amount and there's no queue like Coles.
Also some parking meters accept Amex.

I've registered for both, and i notice my points is from the 1st September.

Although i am wondering 1 thing. Is it from the start of the promo period, or is it from when you register.

Although i'm only guessing here, but I think I would work on your MR statement balance. I have 4 cards linked online and they all appear on the one rewards balance. So I'm hoping they do it that way (as opposed to each card). Even though i was away last month and didn't use my amex as much, i still averaged 70-80 transactions per month across all cards.

Does this offer apply to the Qantas AMEX Premium Card?

That would however involve drinking coffee purchased from 7 eleven....

@sydbloke - We do not think that the QF linked cards are in scope.

@nlagalle - I was wondering when it started from also. I am fairly confident of pushing through 20 transactions before the end of the month starting today but it would be great if it linked in the first 20 of the month...

based on it taking 8-10 weeks, i'm hoping it is from the start of the promotional period.

I just got the same postcard in the mail today. so considering it arrived a week late, i'm thinking it will be from the 10th onwards... but we'll wait and see!!!
