Earliest checkin with Emirates at FCO

I'm flying business class out of Rome, on an Emirates flight, at 15:25 but will be at the airport with luggage at about 10:45. Emirates say their counters will only open 3 hours prior to the flight (12:25) and even though they have another flight departing at 11:30 luggage won't be accepted at...

    Heathrow connection time

Thanks Himeno It's an overnight connection in Tokyo, I'm taking the limousine bus from Narita to Haneda and staying at the Haneda airport hotel. But what I'm concerned about is the connection at Heathrow, I've been ticketed to arrive on JL7083 (BA codeshare) at 1:05pm and fly to Rome on BA556...

    Heathrow connection time

I'm booking with JAL for SYD - FCO flying business class. The flight from Haneda to Heathrow is a BA codeshare arriving at Heathrow T5 and the flight to Rome is also BA departing from T5. But there's only 1:15 between flights which I understand is OK if luggage is checked all the way through to...

    Qantas Premium Economy to US

I'm looking at a PE flight SYD - JFK but want to visit San Franscisco and LA on the way over. Does anyone know if it's possible to fly into SFO and then onwards to New York from LAX. I can see the flights are available and that I'm allowed a stopover but I'm not sure what the rules are about...

    ††† R.I.P. Best Flights

re: ††† R.I.P. Best Flights Couldn't agree more, bestflights.com.au was a great site and by far the simplest way to find indicative flight pricing. I used them a couple of times for J flights and didn't have any issues. It's surprising that no other site presents pricing the same way.

    Pre Paid SIM in Europe

One of my business partners is on a cruise, in that region, at the moment and is using a sim from roamingsim.com.au in his iPad. He's been able to connect everywhere although the rates in Russia are higher than anywhere else. RoamingSim is a reseller for MaxRoam and you can check the data rates...

One World Award flight planning assistance

We're going with Regent Seven Seas. The main thing we wanted was a smaller ship and we looked at Silverseas, Oceania and Seabourne. We picked SevenSeas because their fares are all inclusive (excursions, food, drink etc) and the cruise takes in a bunch of ports we are keen to visit. Most of...

One World Award flight planning assistance

I'm in the process of doing something similiar. We are doing a cruise from Venice to Rome in June 2013 and I'm looking for 2 x J classic award flights flying SYD - FCO and back via LAX. It seems to me there's lot less availability into Europe than there has been in the past and i found, while...

Qantas Classic awards availability - 1 year out

I noticed there's now a popup, beside the flight listing, that indicates if part of the trip is not in business.

Qantas Classic awards availability - 1 year out

Flights up to 8 April 2013 are showing but like you I thought Qantas flights were generally available earlier than any of the partner airlines.

Qantas Classic awards availability - 1 year out

I've just been looking at availability for 2 x SYD - FCO return (J class) in Apr 2013. What surprised me is that only CX is coming up. Is this likely to be because I have low status or are QF and BA cutting back on award seats. Regards David

A few questions re upcoming trip to Italy/Paris

When I was in Italy, late last year I bought prepaid microsims, for my iPad and iPhone4 from 3 (Tre. Italy.). They had a great package deal for the two sims which from memory was about 12 Euros. The iPad sim included 3GB of data. In France I used SFR (SFR : Téléphone portable, mobile, forfaits...

    SYD/BKK in J with BA

I've done this route a few times and agree that row 62 upstairs is good because the person in A or K doesn't have to climb over anyone to get out of their seat. I also quite like 64 A and B although it is near the galley and rear toilet.

    Coins for Kids

Does anyone know if there's still a Unicef 'Coins for Kids' collection box at the Sydney International terminal and where it is? We've been cleaning up and I've got a bunch of coins I'd like to drop off before I fly next but I don't remember seeing it the last couple of times I've been at the...

    Award tickets - missed connections

Thanks again. It's good to hear BA also cover the accom. Sounds like departures from Rome aren't the most reliable - were you delayed because of the aircraft or the airport?

    Award tickets - missed connections

Thanks for the reply. The flights were done as one booking (Rome - Sydney), so it sounds like we are covered.
