Myself and the good woman, going to Bangkok for leisure and some business, best deal out of Sydney is on BA in J class for $4k each return, we get QFF miles too as they are part of Q alliance, question is, anyone been in J on this sector for service, seats etc.?.

More hit and miss than QF in my experience when it comes to service IMHO.

For me, BA flat seats are great (well at least compared to QF SkyBed 1). but their (BA) service is generally patchy at best.

BA usually use 747 on that route. Agree with the comments about service, IFE is similar, food similar. Prefer CW seating over Skybed Mk 1 . V different to QF as seats are arranged alternately forward and rearward facing. With the privacy screen down it would probably be OK as a couple but not as "cosy" as QF.
I would try and book a return with a codeshare on either to sample them both.

Have done the BA J to BKK a lot. When travelling by myself I prefer 60A or 62A/K. When travelling with the mrs we always end up in row 18 seats E and F. With the divider screens up on both sides it is like flying in your own personal cabin. This is a creenshot of the downstairs J cabin. 18E and F are both rear facing.

I've done this route a few times and agree that row 62 upstairs is good because the person in A or K doesn't have to climb over anyone to get out of their seat. I also quite like 64 A and B although it is near the galley and rear toilet.

>< i moved from row 62 to 64A based on seat guru recommendations...

hope it wasn't a mistake... I don't like being too close to the galley... from the picture looked like the toilets were behind 64K...

62A/K are by far the best seats upstairs IMHO streets ahead of 64

64A is better than 62B?

I would say A or K because you have the lockers next to the window and it is a lot more private. My profile picture was when I was sitting in 62K

64A is near the galley/toilet. 62A/K are v private rearward facing emergency exit seats with crew jump seats in front. Worth asking for at check in.

Wonder why it's listed as a green seat in seat guru... both the seat selection tool and seatguru show the toilets are behind J and K... hope that's correct... =( I really do need sleep from LHR to BKK...

Seat guru is correct , however the stairs are behind A/B
