Query on Qantas A380 business class seats

I've slept in this seat a couple of times now and quite enjoy it. Can confirm it is a flat, horizontal seat.

Note however, I have come across reports the end of the beds can become quite saggy after a while and noticeably droop.

Can be fixed with astute use of yon rollaboard as a prop.

I was disappointed with the Skybed MKII as it certainly didn't seem flat to me, particularly after all the hype over it being a fully flat bed.

This "droopiness" must have been the culprit.

I found it more comfortable as a recliner than a flat bed.

have done a few trips in J and haven't had a droop yet. I also have never shared my side storage before, do other people do this?

Several droop-free experiences so far. Am a hopeless sleeper on planes but found the A380 J bed to be flat, horizontal and comfortable. Obviously others may have a different experience.

Certainly is flat and I was out like a light when I put my head down. The bottle of red possibly helped

Matt

Hes my favourite out of the bloggers besides maybe Gary leff, shame we can't exploit some of the us based tricks

I've had the droop a couple of times, but it's not much and didn't prevent a solid 8 hour sleep. I may be wierd though as I sleep really well on planes, irrespective of the time of day or time zone...

I don't want to discredit the blogger, however mk1 has an angle of around 10 degrees, so I don't think the angle he is crediting is as severe as that...

Did OZ to USA twice no droop, slept like a baby, might have been the wine :)

I have flown Oz to USA return 3 times in J (1 in F), and I noticed a bit of droop, but this may have been because I'm 6ft 9in and 180kgs.

I don't drink, and I slept very well, I generally can sleep anywhere though, managed to fall asleep and stay asleep for like 5 hours on a NYC to LAS flight in a small 737 economy seat (AA), and god it was painful when I woke up, (so sore), but yeah, managed to get like 4 hours sleep haha.

Also let the FAs know if this occurs. They may be able to fix it in-flight. I once presumed it was not fixable, and told them at the end of the flight for the maintenance crew to sort out. The FAs told me that I should have mentioned it earlier; they might have been able to fix it for me.

Did anyone notice too that the chap didn't pay for his seat - he used award miles.

Personally I am very forgiving if it is an award seat or an upgrade.

I get very annoyed if I have actually paid for the J experience and it isn't up to scratch.

The guy also complained about the food - food on trans pacific J on QF is excellent.

He complained about climbing over passenger - he chose the window seat.

Why does it matter how the seat was paid for? I've paid cash and redeemed points for F and J seats and expect the same level of service regardless.

truely flat or not, i couldn't honestly tell but it was good enough for me. I would rather it be wider and more angled than what it is now if given the choice.

In my opinion whether it is an award seat or paid seat I expect identical service and standards. I have still paid for it through my hard earnt miles/points so makes no difference to me.

I haven't been on the trans Pacific so can't comment on the food yet.

This is just a personal observation. I do not request or expect others to share my view.

If I am on an award seat or have points upgraded or OPUPed or whatever I am very forgiving - eg if meal choice not available or they run out of PJs or whatever.

If I have paid for the J seat then I am more demanding.

Agree. In such situations, our crew are there to assist all customers, regardless of their fare level. Please never hesitate to bring this to their attention as they may be able to immediately rectify it, or offer an alternative solution.
