By all means start a new post in the Hotel Reviews area (I will do a stay report with room pics soon)!

Here is the missing pool shot, along with the lagoon beach shot above both were taken from the pool bar where I was having a water since I had a shocker of a throat infection!

Did any 'yanks' see you taking photos of a bowl of tommy sauce ??

Must of thought: "poor basturd - never seen ketchup before !"

Also ...

Do they ( IC SC management ) keep an eye out for 'pool invaders' ?

How do they tell if the bunch of kids you have with you are actually house guests ?

On Xmas day the pool cafe staff walked up and down the lagoon pool asking for swipe cards to sight.......did make us all feel like convicts thus duly noted on Feedback form.........

But wouldn't you rather they checked your room card, than have randoms hogging the sun lounges and invading the pool?

We stayed at the Marriott Surfers Paradise many years ago and were really peeved at the freeloaders enjoying the pools without paying a cent:evil:

Those pics bring back memories. I recall sitting in the coffee shop when my son was about markis10 jnrs age. An Ibis walked past on top of the hedge (is the hedge still there?) and in a flash my son decided to catch it and was off the chair over the wall and onto the hedge..........only to discover he was somewhat heavier than the Ibis......and promptly disappeared straight down. I was able to grab his ankle (which was the only thing in sight) and haul him back up again! He's now 15 and not much wiser!

Those canapes and afternoon tea are just wow. I'm begining to think I'm in the wrong programme.

That's funny because I put on my feedback they should be doing this. It was prompted after observing someone come and reserve every chair and table around the pool for a birthday party where all the guests where coming from outside. From bits of discussion I heard they seemed to think they had the right to the facilities, at the expense of those paying to stay there, because they were a PP member. As a PP member I was appalled

That is terrible and extremely selfish. They should have pool towels put in every room in the quantity required for every booking and be designed so they are unique, while there will always be ways of getting more, at least you will have to have a good reason and show your a guest, it's unlikely they will give you more than a couple, that way legitimate users can be easily identified by their towel!

It was only degrading Jama as the carriers of the swipecards were in the pool or somewhere else so couldn't produce one on the spot....leaving other guests to think you we're making excuses!

it was quiet the 7 nights we stayed over Xmas and we didn't witness anyone reserving with towels or coming in from the outside. I always dob those that reserve towels or give them an hour then move the towels myself!! :)

I managed an AWESOME first stay at IC Sanctuary Cove last weekend for a wedding.

The service was exceptional and above many other 5 star hotels on the Gold Coast.

I was pleasantly suprised on so many levels. Breakfast was truly sensational and one of the best I've had in a long time.

The rooms are definitely dated however with a water leak in the roof (from air con) and a broken shower head in two different rooms.

The beds weren't particularly cosy and made all sorts of squeaking noises.

I do recall the old Hyatt card did permit unfettered use of the pool at Sanctuary Cove by non-staying members (we used it frequently in the early days). Perhaps other cards (Marriott, Sheraton etc) are/were similar, but I doubt they include for audacity, ignorance and rudeness. I do know the Marriott Surfers Paradise use to require kids wear those plastic bracelets which indicated they were staying guests and made it easy for security to spot the freeloaders and turf them out (which they did frequently).

Anybody say what the story is with the Homestead Suite ? It looks as if they have stopped allowing PP BOGOs on this ? ( tried to get a price on the PP website, and despite a variety of dates, it doesn't come up anymore ) Then went to IC website, and still doesn't come up ...

Given PP are saying, as an additional reason to renew, that ALL room options are now available to members, this doesn't sound good.

I am expecting to be told next time the telemarketers ring me for PP renewal that one of the benefits of being a foundation member is that I get to be king of England, its about as likely as the other promises they make and a good reason to change phone numbers on the profile ;).

The Homestead suite has been withdrawn from all booking avenues, not just PP, will ask Monique or one of her fellow managers why tomorrow.
