Missed the drinks thanks to jr, they looked good as far as food etc, not up to ADL standard though. As a RA could take breakfast in the lounge or restaurant, although got the impression that's the same for all club guests.

Thanks.
Looking forward to our first stay early next year

Can somebody tell me where the "$99." figure comes from ...

When I log into PP, I get a BOGO rate of $124.50

The same with the PP Special = $124.50 a night.

When they first put the special up the rates loaded were $199 for the base rooms per night, using the PP special that equated to $99.50 for two nights.

Thanks for the info and pics markis ..... nice work ......

Markis, your insights and knowledge are truly second to none on SO many different topics. Thanks heaps for your constant advice!

Im looking at staying here on the weekend of 13 Jan for a wedding at the property. I was planning on booking the Queensland Suite or Homestead Suite. Would you have insight on the main difference between the two? Are the $99 rates only for entry level room types with PP membership? I'm considering if it is worth my while just to join for the weekend alone. Possibly make it a 4 day weekend to include the 4 nights for $396 plus $299 joining fee?

The $99 special is for low season dates, the cheapest rates on your weekend of interest are $169, the Homestead Suite is a similar size to the Queenslander but has two balconies and includes club access by default:

Stay posted as non qual, called the service centre and got quoted the 30% rule, pity it does not apply to Asia Pacific:

Points for Stays. Points will be awarded for Qualifying Room Rates booked through IHG central reservation offices, IHG web sites, travel agents or directly at the hotel. In addition, in North, South and Central America and the Caribbean, points may be collected on locally negotiated rates if these rates are discounted less than 30%. At Asia Pacific hotels, Qualifying Room Rates also include all locally negotiated rates.

Have sent an email to [email protected], they are normally good and know the rules!

Staying here at Sanctuary Cove at the hotel as I speak!

We were booked to fly today to Fiji but our island resort was destroyed in the cyclone.

As not to disappoint the kids I looked on the PP website too see what I could book -mind you this was at 2am as we were packed and ready to go!

Saw the sensational PP newsletter special for Intercontinental Sanctuary Cove and booked. Unbelievable price!

Newsletter is 2 for 1 without a certificate we are staying 6 nights over Xmas in their biggest suite, the Homestead Suite, on the top floor with river views.

On arrival the concierge came straight to the car and opened my door, I hadn't even turned the car off! Front door opened for me, warm welcome as a Platinum Member and told we are booked into the best suite.

two conceige men unpacked the car and hubby, the kids and I jumped onto a golf buggy and we were zoomed to our beautiful suite! Handwritten card and fresh cookies on arrival. Evening turndown with choccies on beds. Complimentary rollaway for the kids.

The hotel was very empty yesterday but started filling up today.

Visited the Club lounge for morning tea, we were the only ones but after a 6km jog, with hubby and kids riding their bikes we were stuffed and enjoyed the refreshments.

Couldnt visit the Club tonight for canapés and drinks as no kids under 18 allowed...........didn't want to go by myself!

Overall, we are very extremely impressed, as the service as this hotel is exceptional.....they are trying so hard too impress.

The kids love the playground and lagoon pool, garden beautiful. I can't see too much work needing done.

i am very fussy when it comes to hotels, but honestly, this would be rated one of the best I have stayed in in Oz.

So, $197 a night using the PP newsletter special for 2 adults and 2 children including breakfast, club access for morning tea, afternoon tea, drinks and canapés in the highest room category of the Homestead Suite.......I still can't believe my luck!!!

So, did we confirm that Breakfast is included because it is a resort?

Pinktommy, did the four of you fit in the homestead suite? Or did you have an extra room?

Thanks.

Marks,

we had 2 rollaways brought into the suite with still plenty of room. There is a connecting room if you wish to pay extra for it. Our breakfast was included because we booked the club access in addition. Club is $100 extra per night, and with breakfast sold at $39 each why wouldn't one take the option to include a yummy afternoon tea and open bar in the evening?? Danny at the club lounge is fabulous!!

enjoy!!

Thanks Pinktommy,
2 under 18 rug rats will stop me enjoying the club drinks! Waying up a two rooms or a larger suite.
How were the dining options at the hotel and village? I think the bikes will be a good idea!

Thanks

Go for the Queenslander suites with two rollaways, and it looks like they have pulled the free breakfasts!

Bugger on the breakfast.
Might sign up for PP before hand, looking at 4 nights which should cover the cost in one stay.
Is there any discount code for PP?
Thanks.

Homestead suite is the biggest room category then Queenslander suites. Rollaways are at no additional cost.

We ate down at the marina at night enjoying the different restaurants down there. Ate at The Fireplace one night at the Intercontinental and used our 50% off PP card, food and service were exceptional.

We saved $1182 on room cost by using newsletter special, stayed 6 paid 3. Also saved 50% dining at The Fireplace one night. Club access guaranteed buffet breakfast, ate afternoon tea every day, and open bar and hot canapés every evening, making friends with other guests. Kids played outside club lounge in evening so we could go in as under 18 not allowed, luckily my Aunty and Uncle joined us so their teenage kids played with my younger ones whilst we kept an eye out the window!

so the $299 PP membership has surely paid off, still have all vouchers too use!!!

Warning - spray yourself silly with tropical strength aeroguard in the evenings.......mossies will eat you alive!

We also took our bikes, conceige locked them in storeroom and got them out when needed. The kids loved riding the golf buggy tracks every morning, whilst I jogged!

On departure I completed the guest review......Monique the GM personally responded that day by email!!!

I had a booked trip to NZ by June of last year for NYE, otherwise I would have taken up that offer from IC SC.
Your stay sounded ab fab !!

Had my stay at IC SC last weekend and must say I am a bit dissapointed. While you guys who have PP and can stay for $99 or so may be getting some sort of value but I on the other hand stayed at full rack rate @ $339 per night. I stayed a few years ago when was still the Hyatt and the rate was $225 per night. Back then the rooms were pretty tired but at that cost it was acceptable however I cant see how IC can justify the same tired looking rooms and indeed resort and charge the rate they currently are. Staff were trying thier hardest ( I think ) but still need some more training.

Also, just a note on my check-in experiance. I recieved absoulutly no recognition when checking in, I was just a name. Usually I would expect the receptionist to say something like.... "good afternoon Mr ......, welcome to IC SC, I see by our booking system you are a Platinum Member and I also see you are an IC Ambassador. thank you for your loyalty. We have your room available for you now and we have given you your automatic upgrade as an Ambassador member. Also your complimentary amenities are allready in the room etc etc etc and would you like to take advantage of your late check-out etc etc.

In my instance I recieved a ....Here are your key cards, swipe them at the door. Also here is a map showing you where your room is, Have a good stay and let us know if you need anything else.

Please tell me you at least got the 20% rebate???? And if staying more then a night I would have though PP would have been a no brainer given you have high season rack rates, FWIW outside of school holidays its circa $220.

That is very disappointing too hear about your stay eric2011.

As both our family parties had Homestead Suites I cannot comment on the other room types but ours was up to scratch. On checking we were told we had been allocated the best suite in the hotel.

Dissapointing again too hear you received no recognition......did you fill out the Customer Feedback for the GM? She responded to ours via email within half a day of leaving.........I would definitely email her and advise of your feedback.

Agree with Markis, that you should have booked via PP website, or use points as that was certaintly a steep rate.

Thanks markis, you keep mentioning PP but I am not a member. Around $220 is about all it's worth in its current state but when I was there on the weekend just gone it was very quiet, should have been a bit cheaper because everyone who wants to stay in 5 star at the cove would already know the condition of the place via previous stays at Hyatt. I believe they would rely a lot on return guests.

Regarding 20% rebate.......in the words of good ol Pauline Hanson..... "Please explain".
