I signed up for this policy seven months ago, and still haven't received my 10,000 bonus points. Does anyone have a contact at OnePath who may be able to ensure my points are deposited in a timely manner? I sent an email two weeks ago, which OnePath promptly ignored, and have tried calling, but I'm not getting anywhere as fast as I'd like. Thanks :)

Send me a PM and i can forward you an email i crafted to them after they denied me. The net result was I got all the points i was due.

Cheers!

My 6 months has passed since I got 2 policies, and no sign of my 20,000 bonus points!

Will wait til end of the week then I will call them or email..

Who else here is sick of companies offering promotions for bonus points and never posting them!? ie. Onepath, Everyday rewards, flybuys, etc argghh I waste so much time on the phone chasing up what they should be already doing! :)

OnePath has been very difficult to get my points out of - it wasn't until I asked how I could contact Consumer Affairs that OnePath agreed to award me my points (and they still haven't hit my account!)

Today I received an email stating as I had not provided my QFF # for the Life Insurance policy within 2 months of taking it they would kindly extend this to 20 August and to ring them to provide.
Well on 5 April when I rang to make sure my QFF # was on file on both Income Protection and Life Insurance Policy.
Apparently who ever I spoke to did not do this.

After ringing today, I was told I would then have to wait 6 months for them to be credited !
The lady I spoke to today then spoke with the admin department after I said not my fault, you fix it and said the 10,000 for both policies would go through on August 11 or soon after.
Lets wait and see if it happens.

Then there is the matter of not getting 1 QFF per $ spent on 1 policy for the last 5 months to attend to, but that will be an email complaint to them.

I called today to see where my 20,000 points are, as I have already completed the 6 month qualifying period. The agent told me it takes 6 weeks AFTER the qualifying period for bonus points to credit.

If I cancel the policy before the bonus points are credited I may boot get them! So really it should be 7 month qualifying period as they're forcing u to stay extra month to get the bonus.

So will wait till mid August to see if points post.

Well one lot of 10,000 points posted today.
I have sent them a email stating I want the 10,000 for the policy they reckon I did not provide my QFF # for by August 11 plus the 1 QFF per $ spent on the policy back dated to March.
No reply yet.....

How long did it take for bonus 10k points to post? I am upto 7 months now and no bonus points.

I took the 2 policy out in March I think.
Thinking about it, that means the 1st lot of points posted after 5 months of holding a policy.
Might of been February then??

Speak of the devil mine came through this morning. 20,000 points :)

An update on this:

The 10k bonus points are still available, but the minimum is for 6 months - I think they cottoned on ;)

However, for my husband it would cost $60 for the life insurance, $50 for accident cover and about $75 for the income protection, which is still 0.5-0.7c per point - pretty decent. I might get the life insurance for me, too, even though I don't work - don't know if that's possible. Still!

These are the actual T&C:

* The bonus 10,000 points offer is not available for new policies within the OneCare range of products and is only available to customers who: (a) apply for a new eligible OnePath policy or eligible ANZ life insurance or income protection directly, either online via qantas.com/lifeinsurance or over the phone by calling 1300 379 693 for OnePath or 1300 376 978 for ANZ; (b) hold and pay the premium for the eligible OnePath policy or ANZ life insurance or income protection for a minimum period of six months; and (c) supply their Qantas Frequent Flyer membership details to OnePath within 30 days of taking up the eligible OnePath policy. Bonus Qantas Frequent Flyer points may take up to two months to be credited to your Qantas Frequent Flyer account after the minimum holding period has expired. The maximum number of bonus points customers can earn through acquisition offers is capped at 20,000 bonus points per customer. If customers acquire more than one OnePath policy with the same product name, they are only eligible to be credited with bonus points available as part of an acquisition once.
^ You must be a Qantas Frequent Flyer member and correctly register your Qantas Frequent Flyer membership details with OnePath to start earning Qantas Frequent Flyer points on eligible premiums you pay. Points are only earned on premiums you pay after OnePath has received your Qantas Frequent Flyer membership details. Points are earned in accordance with and are subject to the ‘OnePath and Qantas Frequent Flyer Rewards terms and conditions'. Membership and points are subject to Qantas Frequent Flyer program terms and conditions. The number of points you can earn on Eligible OneCare, OneCare Super and World of Protection policies is capped at 20,000 points per year, per policy.

Anyone see any problems with this? I'm confused about the 20,000 cap, though; if you apply for, say, four different OP/ANZ products, is it Qantas who caps the points at 20k? The first bolded part implies this - i.e. ALL acquisition offers, but the final line implies otherwise. Anyone have any insight?

There are two caps, limit of 20K per customer for signup bonuses, while the ongoing premium payment points is capped at 20000 per year which is 10000 in the first year after the bonus.

Note: there has been some rounding, and I have taken into account the 10,000 point bonus, the promised points-per-dollar of premium and 1.5 points per credit card dollar. I have allowed 8 months premium to be sure. In light of the experience of others I have screen shots and print-outs of the terms and conditions and proof that I have notified QFF number

policy holder 1, income protection:
1.3c per point
policy holder 1, life insurance:
1.26c per point

policy holder 2, income protection
1.2c per point
policy holder 2, life insurance
2c per point

policy holder 3, income protection
0.73c per point

policy holder 4, income insurance
1c per point
policy holder 4, life insurance
0.77c per point

policy holder 5, life insurance
0.8c per point

all up I calculate the family benefit to be 82,xx_ points in 6-8 months for a maximum spend of $9xx at average cost of 1.14c per point

there are two policies to go (the site crashed a few times), both of which will bring the average price down

Can you tell I had a bit of spare time today? Not sure if it was all worth it, but it was fun and not tooooo expensive

Well after being phoned and spoken to in regards my missing points with an assurance they would post on 7 September, checking my summary they are still missing.
The usual monthly points showed up OK.

Looks like a very firmly worded letter is going there way !

Well my wife had an interesting phone call today which to me suggests that ANZ at least does not do much monitoring on AFF. We got in on this right back at the start and I took out policies in both my name and my wives, 30K each and we got the point in August last year (after some considerable chasing). I think we closed accounts after at most 3 months so accounts would have been closed July last year at the latest.

Tonight we get a call from a company doing research for ANZ on why people are closing their accounts. First she denied she ever had insurance with ANZ but when I reminded he she said oh yes we got that to get the points. So they had a whole script to ask her, was it because of poor customer service, was it because it cost too much, quality of the product. Of course the question (even though my wife made no secret) of was it because you had your points and that was all you wanted was never asked. So that raised the question to me about ANZ's engagement with it's customers, do they really not know whats going on here. If so that shows a fair degree of disengagement with your customers I think.

My wife said she felt sorry for the guy because he clearly didn't have a clue, am wondering if we should put the ANZ management in the same category. If so, no I don't feel sorry for them at all!

I had the same phone call last night and there was at least 2 questions where you could say you got the insurance to get the points. ie Why did you buy the insurance and why did you cancel it. Actually, there were questions about how did you find out about ANZ/one path and what attracted you to the insurance product.

The person I spoke to seemed to be fishing for me to say "for the points". I didn't I made up something about protecting my liabilities and the liabilities then reducing. If we want to continue to see offers such as this then it would be silly to tell them you did it for the points bonus. I also think they knew a lot of the answers to the questions beforehand -like how long was I insured etc.

Yes, unfortunately I did get to prompt my wife before she spoke - not that she's ever been very good at just saying what I want her to say! In her defence she didn't say she cancelled for the points, just that we did not think we needed the insurance any more.

On the getting the offers like this, well I don't think we'll get this particular one again (at least not in the form it was originally), but marketing departments are in my experience always able to come up with silly ideas and don't in all cases run these past the operational areas who are quite capable of finding the holes before these are rolled out but only if asked. So in my opinion relising they have made a mistake on this one is absolutely no guarantee they wont make a mistake in the future.

Sorry I wasn't having a go at you or your wife. Just a general warning if anyone else gets the phone call. I also made a mistake of not telling them I chose one path because they offered points. They need such encouragement to maintain their relationship with QFF. ;)

They have to remember that a lot of us would have never have signed up if it were not for the points.
So really they got some easy money from us that would have never have purchased this kind of product. Plus the likelyhood of someone making a insurance claim who just bought it for the points is low. so pure profit for them, and points for us, win-win.

That is too funny. When I was signing up the family recently I wondered if they were just using it as a point selling exercise and had insight. Maybe someone does. Maybe it's a right hand not knowing what the left is doing.
