OK finally all sorted. Got a call from the Financial Ombudsman last week saying that onepath had advised them that it was all sorted and I said no, it hasn't been (I was still short 20,000 points). They said they would get back in touch with onepath. Today I see the 20,000 points have come through. Couldn't believe it! Now just have to get start the process with the 40,000 points my partner is missing!

The financial ombudsman was completely useless to me, did not hear from anyone despite repeatedly sending them a copy of my written correspondences to and replies from OnePath, until 2 months later when I received a letter in my mail confirming my case being opened and the officer 'encouraged' me to liaise with OnePath. How disappointing.

Fortunately I also sent a complaint to the complaints officer at OnePath and she was extremely helpful, replying to my emails promptly and following up with relevant internal parties for speedy resolution. I now have all my 40,000 bonus points credited.

Has anyone else successfully received the bonus points for the "Accident Cover Plus"??

I was originally told that it was not eligible for the bonus points.

I've received the points for my other policies, and I wasn't going to worry about it.

But if others here have received said points - then maybe I should pursue it.

That's also what they told me but when I followed up with an email suggesting it was eligible as per the T&C's they did apologise and said that it was included and I got my points. There did appear to be some problem with OnePath tracking the Accident Cover Plus policies for QFF points. If you ask again though, you should receive.

Hmm, wonders will never cease.... After calling them again last week, which must have been the 4-5th time over the whole sorry saga plus emails etc, and being told it would be escalated and someone would call me i see on the 30th September 40,000 points have suddenly appeared in my account...

What a saga but at least i got them finally!!!

Surprisingly I've got my points added without chasing them up and it's actually on time

I was ready to sign up to another policy except now they've changed the T&C's and you will need to hold the product for 6 months before the 10k points will be added. Oh well at least it's a free 10k points anyways...

Suprise in my qantas FF account today. Got my 10000 points four months after taking out the policy. Pity they only gave the points for one policy not two.

I had another thought about the question: " did you take out the policy to get the points?" I've realised the proper answer is Yes! Onepath offered points to attract customers. I took up the policies because the offered points, vs another insurance provided. Then when they stuffed up crediting the points I cancelled. Seriously, why offer an incentive like points if you don't want customers to sign up as a result of that incentive?

Also capped at 20000 per customer and 10000 per policy type

Just a quick one without wanting to read 57 pages on the topic. What is the average wait between purchasing a policy, and getting the bonus points?

Logged into my QFF account and received a pleasant surprise, 10,000 new points. 4 months after taking out income insurance, no need to follow up with One path.

They just called me now to tell me I have to wait 6 months. However this was NOT made clear at any point, all I recall is that the points may have taken 2 months to be processed.

My understanding is that putting an offer in 24 point font and burying a major restriction on page 75 of the T&C is considered unfair under consumer law. I planned to keep the policy but am looking to book FF flights for 13 months time so this is a hassle.

Did you only recently sign up? They changed the rules from holding the policy for a minimum of 2 months for the bonus points out to a minimum of 6 months, making it not as attractive to hold a policy purely for the points. Saying that, I held mine for 4 months and it was still extremely good value.

In about August and they apparently changed the rules inJuly. It was not at all made clear. I needed to increase my insurance and even without the points the system was much easier than dealing with my usual broker.

Just called up again today, still chasing points from 7-9 months ago. Given it's the 4th time, if they blew me off one more time with "it's only been x months, it'll be processed next month" I was going to escalate it to the ombudsman but the guy this time said it's been passed to another area and they'll process it next month. Still the same wait time but at least he sounded like he'd spoken to the other area instead of just making an assumption.

Gave them a bad rating on the survey system though. "Have you called about this issue before?" "1 for Yes and 2 for No" "1"...

Given the poor service and massive processing time so far, once resolved I can't see I'll be continuing my business with them.

So wish this hadn't been half the arm wrestle to get anything out of them or would have signed up a couple of extra family members earlier in the year to get a few x 40,000....

After waiting 2 months longer than the 4 months for the points to post, I finally submitted a complaint via OnePath's online feedback system. I just mentioned my policy numbers and asked that they ensure my points are credited. I received a call today from OnePath and the guy was really friendly. He apologised and said that OnePath process the points with Qantas on the 7th of every month, and that my points would go through then. (Which is interesting because I've noticed my monthly OnePath points posting around about the 20th of each month, but maybe it takes a while for everything to be processed?)

Anyway... am hoping my 20000 points post soon so I can plan a JASA for a friend's wedding next April.

Whats the link to the online feedback system? I can't seem to find it.. Thanks!

I had 1 out of 2 sets of points post automatically. I lodged a complaint and a helpful guy called me today. He said both lots went to QANTAS but because they were identical they were considered a duplicate and cancelled. He said they will be resent in the next monthly batch ~ 7th.
