i'm also still waiting for points despite getting a letter from Onepath assuring me they would credit the points by the end of August. So glad I cancelled the policies, imagine trying to get them to pay a claim!

When I resolved my outstanding points, they told me the credit on the 7th, will be paid next month story. But they posted within a week. :) Fingers crossed for those of you who got the will be paid next month story.

Struggling to use your Frequent Flyer Points?

Frequent Flyer Concierge takes the hard work out of finding award availability and redeeming your frequent flyer or credit card points for flights.

Using their expert knowledge and specialised tools, the Frequent Flyer Concierge team at Frequent Flyer Concierge will help you book a great trip that maximises the value for your points.

I joined onepath in June 20th 2011. Received bonus 15000 points on November 13th 2011. Thats 5 months to process the bonus points. I didn't phone them or rush thru the bonus points. So if you are waiting impatiently, it may take 5 months peoples.

Just thinking about it, I know most of us have had woeful experiences getting bonus points out of Onepath, i took out 4 policies (1 in Jan, 3 in Feb) and it took till end of September to eventually get my 40k points... I think in the end i paid about $132 but have claimed it back on tax but even at that original figure it works out to about 0.33 cents a point which was a pretty sweet deal...

Now with the new system of having to hold a policy for 6 months and max points of 20k means that say two policies at about $9/month (x6) would be about $108/20k = 0.54 cents/point... This still compares pretty favourably with say the Westpac offer at the moment of $75/16k points at 0.47 cents/point and without impacting your credit record...

Would anyone be up for recommending friends/family to try this, perhaps even leading to a points transfer, even though your looking at 6 months holding the policy and then many months more to piss f@rt trying to get the points (if they haven't fixed their systems by then or are still deluged with us AFF types :)) or are people just fed up with Onepath???

I ended up getting 60,000 points (plus a couple of others for the monthly premiums) for $196.76 (I ended up paying for 4 months just to be sure) which equates to 0.32 cents per point, brilliant value (I am happy with anything around 0.5 cents or less when "buying" points)

This was 4 policies for myself, and 2 for my girlfriend.

I like your thinking casanovawa, and is still good value at 0.5 cents per point, can I be bothered trying again though? And would most likely need to hold policies for 7 months to be sure.

Does anyone know if you sign up again (after cancelling all policies) if you are still deemed a new customer for the bonus points? I am tempted at round 2.

I severely doubt they would let us back as new customers... Hell after the grief many of us caused them this time around they probably have our names and details black listed on their computers... :p

But I might have a few family members who i might be able to suggest it to including my sister who I had to borrow 50k QFF points off of and I was planning to sign her up to the earlier much better deal with me paying, only it became such a schamozzle before I had to leave on my trip...

I was suprised last week to see my final 10000 points post. I had 2 policies with similar premiums so originally I had the QFF rejects duplicate posts problem. A few weeks ago they posted the premium points for the second policy and last week the 10K bonus. Unfortunately my circumstances have changed so I had to call and cancel the policies today.:D

Hi all.. Not sure if this is the same offer I'm talking about (bonus 10k points).. But reading the T+Cs down the bottom...

^ The bonus 10,000 points offer is only available to Qantas Frequent Flyer members who: (a) who purchase ANZ Income Protection either online or over the phone by calling 1300 376 978; (b) hold and pay the premium for the ANZ Income Protection policy for a minimum period of six months; and (c) supply their Qantas Frequent Flyer membership details to OnePath within 30 days of taking up the ANZ Income Protection policy. The maximum number of bonus points members can earn through acquisition offers is capped at 20,000 Bonus Points per member. If members acquire more than one eligible ANZ life insurance or income protection product with the same Product Name, they are only eligible to be credited with Bonus Points available as part of an acquisition incentive once. Bonus Qantas Frequent Flyer points may take up to five weeks to be credited to your Qantas Frequent Flyer account.

So does that then not include life insurance, which is clearly linked through the website... qantas.com.au/fflyer/dyn/memberSpecials/business/anz-life-bonus-points?int_cam=ff:promo:anz-life:lang:en

Sorry about the link, add the wwws to the start of the link.

Yep this is the correct thread. The thing is now you have to hold the policies for a minimum of 6 months, where previously it was only 2 months. If you read through some of the thread you will find out the history of this deal. They have also capped it at 20,000 bonus points. I am sure they made these amendments in response to what many of us did here.

I have posted in another thread exactly what I ended up with, but it was something like 60000 points from 6 policies for about $190, brilliant value. There might still be some value in this but not sure if it is worth the hassle over the 6 month (likely 8-9 month) timeframe.

And stupidly I just signed up, then read that it expired on the 13th of January 2012. So I just called up to cancel (during cooling-off period, of course). Now let's see if they cancel as quickly as they signed me up. Unfortunately when I had called them it "still wasn't on their system", so they have to do it manually... Which of course makes me lose confidence and just means I'll call up in a couple of days when hopefully it's on their system.

Where does it say it expired on the 13 January 2012???

Take out ANZ Life Insurance before 13 January 2012 and you could earn five Qantas Frequent Flyer points for every dollar you pay in premiums for the first six months you hold your policy. After that you could earn one point for every dollar of premium.* What's more, you could also get a bonus 10,000 points when you take out ANZ Life Insurance either through this online page or over the phone by calling 1300 376 978[SUP]#[/SUP].

Happy 1 Year Anniversary to this thread! I should ask ANZ for commission on all the policies although they might be a little annoyed at all the 3 month cancellations and the points payouts:cool::cool::cool::cool::cool::cool::cool::cool:

Have just hit the six month mark on the 'Easyprotect income' policy and I'm wondering whether to push on to twelve months to claim the 'Healthy Living Benefit'.

Healthy Living Benefit
If no claim is made under the policy in the first year after the
policy acceptance date, and provided all premiums have
been paid when due, and the policy is in force on the first
policy anniversary, we will pay you a one off Healthy Living
Bonus of $100. Payment of this benefit will be made within
60 days of the first policy anniversary of the policy.

It is still listed in the PDS at Income Protection Insurance - Income Protection Quote - OnePath Insurance
Do they send a cheque or refund your credit card automatically, or do you have to chase them up?

In my case I got a cheque. In all honesty I had actually forgotten about the policy until the cheque arrived.

Planning on keep it now with a 2nd addition to the family etc..

Oh how I wish it was still as easy, or I’d go again, and sign the family up. :(

It was good... Wish i had signed up more family members, but then it really was a hassle to get those points, not sure what the family would have thought of that rigamarole...

I signed up for this policy seven months ago, and still haven't received my 10,000 bonus points. Does anyone have a contact at OnePath who may be able to ensure my points are deposited in a timely manner? I sent an email two weeks ago, which OnePath promptly ignored, and have tried calling, but I'm not getting anywhere as fast as I'd like. Thanks :)
