I think it is idiosyncratic of males to use "blokey" lanruage and similar for females...I'm sure if we checked female-dominated wbsites (fashion, makeup etc) it would have a similar "girly" language (well, plus the specific IT, generation blends as well).Yes, anat0l - SWMBO is an example of what I meant by 'blokey'.

Indeed, correct usage can convey the right message...but the emoticon is lost once somebody starts bringing emotion into the debate.I suppose I don't care either, I was simply stating that I had noticed this trait and it had got me wondering about the ratio of male to female. The icon posted next to the thread title should have been a bit of a clue that this was supposed to be simply a lighthearted conversation starter.
