My limited experience with the SYD Flounge as a World Platinum was that it was always highly unlikely you'd get a spa spot on a walk up basis. However, at the MEL Flounge I have been proactively been offered a spa spot. This to me is one of the many reasons why the MEL Flounge is infinitely better than the SYD Flounge.Flying AA F out of SYD (11.30 departure).

Gosh the difference would be even more stark now too - there’s at most only 2-3x weekly 380s out of Melbourne vs at least 2 or 3 daily pre covid (sin / dxb-lhr, lax). Syd now has the overwhelming bulk of the 380 departures (still only 4 daily tho)My limited experience with the SYD Flounge as a World Platinum was that it was always highly unlikely you'd get a spa spot on a walk up basis.
