ALL Accor+ Explorer Membership Discussion

I wonder who might have emailed Loyalty Lobby about that issue..... ;)
I feel like some accor properties are slowly following. Raffles Singapore appeared out of nowhere and is now available.

I don't buy it is a system thing that Accor controls - highly suspect it's backend is for each hotel to control and many don't want to follow through with it (I mean who does as a business). Either that or Accor hasnt been clear with them how they're being compensated for the stay nights (which i could see being the case).

The stay night scenario shouldn't have needed any major backend system overhaul, rather the hotels to fall in line with the policy.

Either way its a huge botched mess for a very significant change that hasn't eventuated and as a customer it feels pretty cough.

Probably Accor being stingy with compensation. Properties aren’t going to give away $1000+ nights for free without being heavily compensated. One of the duty managers at Raffles Jakarta had mentioned that dialogue was ongoing between the various properties and there yet may be further “enhancements” in the coming months

I honestly think that Raffles will most likely end up allocating something like 2 rooms per day max available and it will be like chook lotto

Yes but Singapore Raffles already has these conditions

Raffles Singapore: Stay Plus FREE Night benefit has limited availability per day.

So it’s already a case of getting in quickly it seems

What i noticed is that the stay night is available most days but the days where its actually close to the full discount isn't everyday. (In fact one of the days ends up being just $300 discount instead of ~$1600) But it is listed as stay plus discount day.

That’s strange, I thought if the same room is available on multiple dates, it would offer a similar Stay Plus discount each time. Interesting that the discount amount varies so much!
It also makes it harder to plan or book, since we have to check each day separately to see what discount is being offered.

First use of dining benefits under the new system tonight.

30% discount applied to all food. My previous experience was that some venues (not many) applied only mains.

15% beverage discount also applied.
Venues will often make rules up as they see fit (or they think the market will accept). Eg only offering10, 15, 20% discount instead of the max 30% (looking at you Lee Ho cough - brand new at The Porterhouse Sydney, yet only offering 15%). Or excluding set menus/kid menus from any discount...

It's really disappointing the only basic rooms seem to be on offer, everywhere I looked. Hopefully an upgrade comes through, but I'm doubtful on that.

So after saying this, I was searching for a 3 day stay in HKG, looked at Mondrian and basic room available on a member rate was Signature King, 21 sqm for $1,099 on a flexible booking, pay at hotel.

Used the app to find Stay+ and the "basic" option was a Premier Skyline King 32 sqm room (2 categories up), which including breakfast and the $150 co-payment on the stay+ night - total was $1,140 on a flexible booking. Member rate is $1,500 so essentially getting my membership's moneys worth on this one stay.

___

My other Stay+ booking has also been made, Pullman Singapore at Hill St, which is only going to be around a 30 hour stay with a 5am arrival and 10:30pm departure from SIN the next day that would have been awkward and/or expensive otherwise, if not for this "free" night. Only a "basic" deluxe room offered - though bay view or executive high floor rooms are available without the Stay+
