Yep. Altered my original post.

Seems MH no longer uses I class, but Z class is still the most discounted Business Fares, and still only earns at Flex Economy.

Assume MH still uses A/F booking codes For Business Suites (formerly first) on some of their A359s.. but do they actually fly anywhere that fits into the other category?

Edit - Seemingly some KUL-NRT services get the 359 over 333.

There is
You pay a stack extra.
Z class is usually the cheapest business fare.
You can book a Business Flex fare which is probably double the cost

Probably best to use a reputable travel agent. I've read you can't trust fare types on the MH website to correlate to a specific booking class.

The seem to do something similar to Virgin, where any fare class can be in any fare family.

Probably got onto us about the cheap intra-Asia J fares (lowest bucket is Z, which used to earn at standard Business rates).

Makes it worthwhile to fly MH from ADL -> KUL in J again, 4400 QFF points and 100 QFF SC in business, of course, dopends on what class the booking goes into.

Will it though? Z class fares are $3.5k, you'd need to book D class fares for $5.4k to benefit from this change.

If you're spending that sort of coin and care about SC earn, you're flying QF indirect for $3.9k.

This is probably more beneficial to those booking obscure cheap two-stop itineraries to Europe, where MH is often used as the carrier in and out of Aus.

That is indeed a positive enhancement. Although keeping Z in flexible economy means I will almost certainly not benefit

Going with QF would mean having to backtrack (as sn Adelaidian) and go via SIN.
Not so bad if QF still flew to KUL.
