Singapore Airlines new First and Business Class

Key points to me
Launch further pushed back to 2nd half 2027 - FAIL

The yellow line in the J seat looks Scoot like - FAIL

Every second pair of those closest-together middle seats can become a double bed with the central privacy partition fully lowered. - WIN

777-9 business class seat will have just one 45W USB-C port, while the A350 version – which was a later build, owing to the 777X delay – boasts two beefier 60W USB-C outlets - FAIL

Yet here’s another twist: only the A350s have the latest 22-inch vibrant OLED panel technology, while the 777s make do with a 20-inch LED screen. - FAIL

Nothing about upgrades to the 787's and Medium Haul A350's which fly to AU as well :( FAIL

First looks great.

Business… perhaps it’s just the pictures… but the three sections of the bed don’t look flat, and look to have some pretty significant gaps.

Otherwise I don’t mind the colour scheme. You can’t see the yellow strip when you’re sitting in the seat.

And all the folk on awards aren’t going to complain.

Happy with the mix between these new seats and the current regional offering. Anything that’s full flat without feet going into a tiny cubby is good.

All SQ need is to change the colour of the J seats and it would look much more luxurious. The current look made me think of a cheap car with fake leather.

They still have time to fix this by trying out different colours and see which is better before final deployment.

Im most likely to be in J....and the most important thing is you sleep parallel to the aisle, not at that stupid diagonal in the current J setup bar the bulkhead seats.

What a shame. SQ had a real opportunity here to create something cohesive, with a distinctive Singaporean or Southeast Asian identity. Instead, the cabins feel completely disconnected from one another, almost as if each was designed for a different airline.

The J cabin in particular looks cold and plasticky, and the grey colour scheme with the yellow stripe is just a bizarre choice. Very little warmth or personality to any of it. Overall, really disappointing.

Couldn’t give a rat’s about the colour scheme. Once your cough is in the seat, can you see it, does it matter?

Totally agree! That’s the main takeaway for me. I like to get SQ award seats in J but refused any overnight flights because of the stupid angle/bent sleeping position, which limited, my choice.

Once these new seats come into better circulation, I’ll be on more SQ flights.

There are plenty of regional Js from SIN to ADL, BNE, PER, WSI right now with straight sleeping patterns …….

What happened to the Peranakan/Singaporean/Malay influences that they were harping on about? This looks horrid.
