Dan Murphy's and Other Wine Deals

Wine is global, my wallet is a country town 😁

Just fishing, you still gotta try! But i know, it was a stretch! I think I'm going to research for a while as I've spent so much lately.

Courier already has all my Mollydooker!
Hey just a recommendation on a couple of Pinots that I love (and I generally love Pinot) in the $20-$35 range depending on when and where you buy: Hoddles Creek and Mac Forbes. Both have an entry level Pinot at that price which are consistently well reviewed and just absolutely delightful to drink. Both are a modern style of Pinot (esp Mac Forbes) but I pick up a few whenever I can get a little discount. Sites like Different Drop, Wine Star, Randall’s are your friends for these sorts of smaller producers.

Mate hahaha, believe me after last Saturday I know there's absolutely nothing left. I spent like $600 yesterday alone. I'm done for a while, unless something special pops up!

I'll look into it 👍. Any favourites?

If anyone knows what to look for in French Pinots, shoot me a PM.

Theotherbordeaux sent me information about stock arriving, he mentioned as it's my first order he has some left overs and can give me pre-departure pricing. I just don't want to post a private link here. Thanks :)
From the wines I get from that subscription, I loved the Rochford Estate, Soumah, Paringa Estate, Josef Chromy, Relbia, Cape Bernier, so many!!
Mainly Tasmania and Yarra Valley thought.

Im on the hunt to find solid Pinots for $10-20 of they exist, which I know is a stretch.
besides
I think I picked up some Stonier from Cellar One for $20 a while back and thought it wasn't bad for the money.
which is currently unavailable from Cellar One, and would only be <$20 using ($20 referral) credit
Any of these Pinots available at BWS? Sorry 🤣🤣🤣
consider Eddystone Point Pinot Noir @ BWS: $38 - 50% clearance = $19 - 10% off $100 spend - 30% ShopBack = $12.44

however, again, possibly follow your own advice?

Might help to narrow it down. What style of Pinot? Light, medium, fruity, earthy, region in Au NZ or outside of?
I never really think of this, but I guess I have too now! I need to drink more!
Don't limit yourself on the basis of cashback stacking discounts double 10% offs etc etc - there is a whole world of wonderful Pinot Noir out there - terrific wines from Mornington Peninsula, Geelong, Bannockburn, Gippsland, Tasmania, Central Otago etc etc that won't be there

Wow lucluc. Have you had a drink yet mate? Might help you slow down the spending

hence stop spending and start drinking - or rather, if you're going to shop, then be more selective

don't be so focused on price/discount, when a bargain is all about value

value = benefit / cost

cost is relatively simple - price

benefit is more difficult to determine, especially when it seems that you don't know quite what you like yet

thus why you need to be more targeted, drinking to discover what you prefer

depending upon how much or often you drink, this can be done by changing things and having different sessions that each last over a week, fortnight, or month

for example, if you're trying to work out which grape varieties that you enjoy most, then for each period, pick a particular grape, and choose wines of that variety from various regions - have a mixed six-pack, with each bottle costing maybe $20-$30, or if that's too wide a range to be fair, then perhaps $20-$25 or $25-$30 instead

through this research, you should hopefully have a better understanding of what benefits you, and consequently, which deals are indeed bargains worth buying

Browse the pinot thread also.

Buying wine just because it's cheap is a great way to accumulate a whole bunch of stuff you don't like.
I love my Pinot and the other comments are right, it is pretty hard to find a good deal on a good Pinot.

I mean no more wine, unless the discount and the wine is spectacular. I need to stick to my budget from next month.
how do you define spectacular?

I basically meant, unless a deal like the Art Series comes along I won't be buying anymore! Just super strict to my budget now.

I actually did grab some of that Pinot from BWS!

The whole testing, I mean you can't beat experience. If I even drank a bottle a week, that's 50 bottles a year. It def adds up over the years, that's why I do tend to rely on the suggestions of experienced drinkers.

I'm still learning, and my choices of what I buy now are 10 fold better than 12 months ago.

Thank you for all the advice, suggestions, and criticism due to my own doing 😬😁

Nope, I'm not tempted. Good price for Bin 28 tho!
Have you been up to mischief on Whirlpool Luc?
I haven't checked, but I got the feeling Whirlpool is based out of China.

All I wrote was an introduction message, and I'm keen on chatting to anyone from SA!

So I'm not sure what you're actually allowed to post there, people do post what they've bought but someone has something stuck up their a**.

I checked my messages and Mod responded to me.

We also don't permit group buys and we would very much advise against soliciting same via private messages. Were we to become aware you were doing that, significant penalties would be applied against your account.

--- I assume even writing that I'm keen on meeting other SA locals broke their forums.
