You can use points for a round the world partner award for 280,000 points in business class. Call QF so you can get access to CX flights though remember that they will charge you taxes, fuel fines and points for an assisted booking.​

Note that they may waive the assistance fee if using CX as it is not possible to book a CX flight without calling QF.

Yes, for QF FF members its called a OneWorld Award. Cost is 140,000 points for Y, 280,000 for J and 420,000 for F. And if you are unable to find the flight combination you desire through the on-line system, then there is the 2,500 assisted booking fee that is generally added for using telephone operator to make the booking for you.

Have just spoken to QF premium, who were v helpful (always nice when you don't get flicked through to the std call centre).

Basically, the deal is that OW flights are based on miles travelled, as follows:

whY - 140k points for up to 35k miles travelled
J - 280k points for up to 35k miles travelled
F - 370k points for up to 35k miles travelled

Maximum 5 stopovers, and no minimum time away. 12 mth maximum.

370,000 point for 'F' sounds like a really good (too good to be true) type of enhancement.

13.5 oneworld TM Award Booking Conditions

13.5.1 A oneworld Award is an Award Flight Itinerary that includes travel on at least two oneworld Alliance Airlines other than Qantas and does not include any travel on any airline that is not a oneworld Alliance Airline. Jetstar Airways is not a member of the oneworld alliance.

13.5.2 Award Flights using the oneworld Award table must be no more than a distance of 56,315 kilometres (35,000 miles). Longer journeys must be broken into separate Itineraries.

13.5.3 A one way oneworld Award Itinerary will be charged as a return Itinerary. oneworld Award Itineraries finishing in a port other than the port of origin must include the distance to return directly to the port of origin when calculating the number of Points required to redeem the Flight Award and the maximum distance for the Itinerary.

13.5.4 The following Stopover conditions apply:
(a) up to five free Stopovers are permitted;
(b) additional Stopovers are not permitted;
(c) only one Stopover is permitted in any one city in the Itinerary; and
(d) only two Transfers may be taken at any one city in the Itinerary.

13.5.5 Surface Segments are permitted as part of oneworld Award Itineraries, but the distance between the disembarkation point and the next embarkation point will be included in the Award Point zone calculation for that Itinerary.

13.5.6 Where mixed-class travel is booked, the whole Itinerary will be calculated using the Points level for the highest class booked.

This is one worth noting from the points posted above above:

You just book a multi-city award going around the world taking care to have 3 oneworld airlines including QF.

When you have the three the points required drops to the oneworld award...otherwise it will go in as a QF award requiring more points.

And it's restricted to a total of 16 segments including land segments so that it can be issued as an ETicket.

One of the many great things I learned on this board in '07 was that I could do rtw award trip 140,000 pts. (34000 miles) with qf and other oneworld partners. So that is what I did.

I've been trying to find if this is still available on qf oneworld site but unable to do so.

Can someone please point me in the right direction?

It's up to 35,000 miles and bookings can be made on www.qantas.com using the online award booking tool's multi segment option.

Once you select flights from two oneworld airlines other than Qantas it automatically gets costed as a QFF "oneworld" award.

In my opinion one of the best value redemptions for QFF points. One thing to note is that some routings cannot be booked online so must be done via QF reservations and will require an extra 2,500 QFF points unless you can get this waived.

I am planning to take my father round the world in August/September 2009 and I will be booking 2 Oneworld RTW awards. I don't think my father will be interested in flying too many of the 16 sectors available so this may have to be very simple one. Still good value though and the QFF points are just sitting there gathering dust.

I did something similar last year and was surprised on how easy it was to book on Qantas.com.

10 Flights, 29,000 miles, 3 stops, I think you can have up to 5 stops.

Go to bookings and just keep adding flights in a RTW direction, the points keep adding until you get to 140,000 and then it stops.

Ah I should finish my trip report and post it, I got a gentle reminder that I had not finished it on the weekend.

It's even more interesting when you have a building point tally of over 200K until you add that second non QF oneworld carrier and it magically drops to 140K.

Yes one of the best value QF awards.

We did this in '06 (in J when J was only 240K) MEL-SYD-FRA(s)/ORY-BCN-RIO(s)-SCL(s)-EZE(s)-LIM-CUZ(s)-LIM-LAX-MEL. Excellent value. Main restriction is 5 stopovers ... but we managed a 6th (sort of) stop in Barcelona, by have 23 1/2 hrs between arrival and departure...​

If you book a J Oneworld award, say around the worls with AA, BA & QF SYD-LAX-LHR-HKG-SYD, what class do you get booked into for AA domestic flights?
