Qantas Business Class meals & menus

I know most people would have probably had something to eat in AKL, but I have to say, that is a very poor offering in business for a ~3hr flight.
If they were offering as many of those as you wanted, not so bad. I'd accept fruit juice, fruit, croissant, muesli, then omelette (with yoke) and toast, as a reasonable breakfast but not an only 1 of each of those courses. Can't have fruit and a carb! Or can you?

Only 1 main usually.

Re the lounge, I too fear that the revamped lounge is being used as the excuse to scale back the breakfasts onboard. Plus QF4 being the continuation of the JFK flight.

More broadly - given most of the departures are 6am to 7am, not everyone wants to be in the lounge at 5am just to eat before a business class flight. Service is usually pretty slow in the Platinum area which doesn't make for a timely experience either.

Those ex JFK have eaten on the previous flight plus the lounge as well so I can understand it to some degree however I suspect if one asked they could have had the muesli and the omelette upon request

Maybe they chose to maximise sleep and didn't eat on the flight though?

The whole point of premium cabins is having choice.

Not sure if it is across the board yet but the J class menus have a recognition of the airlines birthday this month. Not sure if is the same image or there are different ones. A nice change.....

I don't disagree with you but they then had the lounge as well which is really too class these days in AKL. They didn't go hungry. There was also food available on the plane, including a hot breakfast if they wished.

Agree.

AKL-SYD on QF4 is sold/bookable as a standalone sector, so what happens from JFK should be irrelevant. It would probably be about 4 hours between onboard meal services anyway.
