Paranoia at its best. the whole of sydney covid situation is will under control. the system has shown it works time and time again.
apart from one uncontrolled outbreak, due to lax HQ, rest of them have been quickly controlled by all states concerned.
we must stop this fear mongering and knee jerk reactions, that result in states locking out their own residents.
We have done well in NSW but much of the outcome was not due to anything the State Govt did. The State Govt system failed 3 or 4 times (different outbreaks in December that were detected). Contact tracing worked most of the time but failed to identify case zero in the largest outbreak, in the other cases the people who were the source of initial outbreaks identified themselves by going & get tested of their own volition.
Well the problem was that the system didn't work perfectly well in Sydney.
There were 3 or 4 separate 'breaches' in December of the NSW system.
Luck played a major part in it not being a worse outcome. For example with the Northern beaches wedding reception breach or the 600+ person Western suburbs wedding reception breach. As luck would have it - seemingly not one of them was infected. If there had been an infected person then the outcome would be very different = good luck not planning.

The first breach saw the infected cleaner wearing masks 100% of her travelling as well as shopping time & only infect her husband. She did this despite masks not being mandatory on public transport or in shops - she should be rewarded for setting such a great example of how masks help. She worked in the densest area in NSW & transited the 2nd busiest train station. The strain she caught was not one of the more contagious variants.
All these 'lucky' breaks had nothing to do with State Govt policies - just the lady's self-responsibility & apparent concern for others.
NSW contract tracing never identified where the Northern Beaches outbreak originated = not a success.
The NSW management of the outbreak saw it spread across state borders = not a success (not as bad as Ruby Princess though but a similar attitude)
NSW contact tracing has never identifed over a dozen transmission chains = not a success
