For Plat in a QANTAS lounge you can bring +2 additional children in as well.
This only applies to Qantas (and i think AA lounges as they reciporcate).

Now strictly speaking you might not be able to bring your 18yo as a "child" into the international lounges, but they may be reasonably lenient and allow it.

I have a slightly different scenario I'm hoping for some advice with.... myself and 9 year old child both flying BC from BNE to AKL. We are flying with some friends who are a couple with one child - also 9 year old and they are flying Economy. I know both myself and my child can guest one person each due to the BC ticket, so that takes care of the 2 adults...any thoughts on how to get the other child in? They are happy to pay for a one off pass but it's not showing up as an option on this leg only on the return leg (I'm assuming it's due to the repair work at BNE lounge). Any thoughts? FYI - not trying to 'get around' any rules and happy to pay but it seems it may be a lost cause! (also only silver with QF no help there with status)

Shouldn't be a problem. I'm under the impression the child policy applies for those eligible to access the a lounge. Correct on not possible to pay for passes/access due to the escalator construction at BNE.

yeah I'm thinking the additional child might be ok under the child policy as you suggest - so it would be me(paid BC) + a guest, my child (Paid BC) + a guest and the other child taken in under my child allowance?
