Vinomofo Wine Deals

Nope. I’ve given up. Wasted 2 hours of my life looking into it 😂
Well, don't waste a minute more.
Hit Mr Covid now and remember, if it doesn't deliver , you can return it.
The beauty of the Fo on display. THE RETURN POLICY GEORGEHALL IS JUST STUNNING. I had a credit in my account the afternoon after I dropped off the 5 pack of that hundred bucker WA Shiraz. I am even getting a bit excited with this one.

Word from one of my subscribers is that a VM broker said it was from Padthaway.
That limits the options a fair bit

I ordered some on Friday night with the free delivery. Fingers crossed but hopefully can’t go wrong paying $25 a bottle

Maybe Henry's Drive Longbottom Magnus Shiraz.
Price is right $85. Fruits from Pathaway and McLaren Vale -> hence South Australia.
Though 2014 vintage not in their shop site.

Well done, that was my conclusion also, the 2014 is all Padthaway and did indeed score 92 from (someone at) Robert Parker.
90pts from JH, very oaky.

Hoping I was going to come to the table with some new insight....but alas, pipped at the post.
The Magnus is what I found to be best match. I believe VM had it or some of their wines way back in the day..
I also boomed, but coughed up for shipping due to my commitment to unnecessary research 😂
Looking forward to this though!!

I opened one Thursday night, very nice wine, needs a few more years in the bottle to be at its best I feel. Very good buying at the vm price.

Opened one of these Warramunda Cabernets. Very perfumed, lifted nose, lots of dark fruit and hint of choc mint. Quite impressive in the mouth, particularly an intense prune-like presence through the mid-palate. Some stalky tannins to close out. Not enough in my opinion. A fairly well balanced, medium bodied wine but my uninformed opinion is that Eckel's drinking window is optimistic but if it gets there it will be because of the excellent acid.

Yes of course, it's simply that I have too many $30+ wines now and need to be selective about what I buy in that price range - acknowledging that the difference between $30, $60 and $90 wines can be very subjective anyway.
I reckon you have nailed the area where things get a bit blurry. So a $45 Fo wine selling for $22.50 can absolutely kill a Dan Murphys $68 normal.
That's why opinions here matter. I have just back red the poor reviews that Warramunda 2018 cabernet got. I was hoping for a stunner with that 97 score. Obvioulsy they needed help in selling it hence the Fo purchase. But the review here was just like my reviews of that WA Optimus Shiraz that was a $99.50. Just too think and watery. In fact, if you are spending over $25 on any bottle of red, a description of 'thin and watery' is a character refernece in three words.

Obviously a wine to avoid. You can get thin and tasty such as a mediocre pinot but thin and watery reminds me of the De Bortoli pinot that was sitting on the shelf at greythorn cellars , the one that has a lot of colour on the label. That stuff is cottees cordial and probably the worst pinot i have had in my life about 4 years ago.

No time for swaps i guess kevviek, or have you some in your cellar from old Fo days?

I was intrigued so I had a quick look at past orders. The only ones that I still have more than two bottles of are the 2014 Giant Steps Merlot and the 2016 Andevine Reserve Syrah. Both were/are sensational wines and I am saving a few for later. Aside from that, no more quaffers left hence I had to have a 2010 Wynns Black Label Cab tonight. Very smooth....
