For someone who hit P1 with almost 10 months to spare, they should be paying you to continue to fly with them, let alone double SC!

There's never been a better time to book with Qantas. For a limited time, you'll be rewarded with 50% more Qantas Points on eligible flights with a QF flight number on your ticket.*
You can enjoy this offer on an unlimited number of flights booked in the next 7 days so it's a great way to help get your points balance soaring.
Simply register and make a new booking between 28 October 2019 and 3 November 2019 for travel from 28 October 2019 to 25 February 2020. And don't forget to include your Frequent Flyer membership number in your booking.
So if only a few thousand sent out, say 3,000, then this can't really be a revenue raising exercise? Let's say a success rate of 20% sell through...which would be generous....you'd have 600 people booking, and this would not create much more than a blip in earnings. It will not work. There was only a limited amount of emails sent out, a few thousand. And they are clearly targeted.

Just found this thread so now I understand it’s targetted and so glad I’m one of the lucky ones, pity I couldn’t take advantage of the $843 J companion fare unless someone else wants to do a SC run with me? One way via Adl would yield 320 SC with this promo.
Interesting anecdote about the possibility that there are now many more higher tier members than ever before:
'QF2 last weekend apparently had an announcement influght saying they set a record with 86 chairmans + P1 on board. source: friend who flew on it'

Just for some persepctive, being a Chairmans Lounge members has ZERO to do with the amount of flying done.
I agree would be a data exercise to see how many people do actually bite, and in turn depending on their uptake will offer it more broadly in the future maybe. So if only a few thousand sent out, say 3,000, then this can't really be a revenue raising exercise? Maybe this is more a data gathering exercise to see which types of people bite at these offers?

I have a feeling the number was closer to 15000
5. To check if people are responding to these offers, by means of registration or booking a ticket or even attempting to make a booking
Yes they have run a few of them, but doesn't mean that they had much data behind them. Now they have the system (or a better system) to capture more of the data.Surely they already know the stats for DSC uptake, they've run so many of them....
Although I retained P1 with a few months to spare there was a member on AFF who retained P1 within 2-3 weeks and didn’t even fly QF metal, Quick & Easy P1 Requalification. For the record it was closer to 9.5 months to spare
