Qantas site a mess

I have 3 recent transactions on my points activity. 2 deposits on 1000 points on Monday the 4th, and then a deduction of 1000 points on the 5th. Wasn't expecting any points, so assuming its a stuff up.

Qantas website seems out of order again. Need to make some booking changes but cant access anything. Hope they will sort it out soon.

Seems quite substantial. I seem unable to book flights via the app.

It ain't me! (even though it happened just as I was trying to access flight status)

Just wondering ...

How do people think the 'mechanics' of QFF points earned on JQ flights posting on QFF work?

Does JQ accrue all pax's earned points for a set period (eg a month), then purchases them off Qantas in a batch, then advises QFF how they should be allocated, then QFF posts them to accounts? And I'm pretty sure JQ would be buying the points or some inter-entity value transfer would occur.

Or might each pax's JQ earn be signalled to individually to QF after each flight (and paid for, probably on monthly invoice), who then simply takes their time (deliberately, as it would be automated) to allot the points to each account, as they know they won't be paid by JQ at least until the end of a month?

Either way are subject to glitches and delays, and when QF changes its IT, you can see a greater than normal scope for mis-matches and delays in points posting.

Good Questions you raise, I would certainly love to know myself. :)

With 6 flights now submitted for flights taken on JQ over the past month which have failed to post QF SC & points, I have now resigned to the fact that I need to claim as soon as three days passes , where the ability on the QF website to lodge missing points & SC's is open.

And site issues again. Limited functionality, no option to log in and not option to book multi-city. Grrr!

Yes, with IE clicking 'log in' causes the page to constantly re-load (I guess that's a cache issue). Chrome has a message 'some sections unavailable, can book flights with confidence.'

Yeah, really. Qantas web site and 'confidence' are two things which haven't gone together for years now.

I wonder if they are doing the changes they announced yesterday to suck up to China (labelling Taiwan a part of China).

Or i wonder how bad things have to be that they were able to convince the Chinese Government to granted them an extension to make the changes needed.

My advice from ongoing experience now with this issue for some time. Wait the 3 days then put in the claim you will probably see nothing for 28 days. There seems to be a Jetstar cycle going on with processing. If nothing ring QF. That’s what I do they then usually post in about 3 days.

Yes we are next. Not Australia but a territory of China

Qantas relied entirely on Telstra for its internet portal?:rolleyes:

The site says you can book, but no FF functionality.

Some internal systems and intranet aren't working either, so it's not a 'work experience' website issue etc etc etc.
