Not looking good at qantas.com.

Front page won't load for me. Just comes up as a yellow background with Error 404: Not Found Code 404

Anyone else having this problem? My internet is working ok - can get AFF:)

Yep same issue here. On a bizarre note if you leave the page displayed it alternates between a yellow and green background.

Outsourced server support, but not the 404 page colour fade ;)

This website is a PITA.

Just tried 3 times to book a simple BKK-DXB-LIS award.

Got flights, all px details input, get to last page to book. Followed instructions to not leave the site or refresh the page, and get the message (for me to review): An error has occurred in our central database. Please contact us for further information. (4002 [7597])

Doesn't look like a phone number to me.

Guess I'll have to ring and wait forever as now only NB.

Called the pleb number and went on hold. Message said delay of 35 to 46 minutes. On hold for 1hr 10mins. CSO admitted they were extremely busy. She was pleasant and seemed pleased I had all the flight details so booking only took just over 10 mins.

So holiday flights booked? :)

Well, to the first port in Europe, Lisbon, but there is a problem

My name on the booking doesn't quite match my name in passport. When I finally got to speak to the QF CSO late last night I spelt out my first and middle names to her and added 'as in my passport'. When I looked at the booking on the QF website I see that it lists me as first name, middle initial (surname).

Now I'm stressing about this and wondering whether it will be a close enough match for emirates checkin/Thai immigration to enable me to fly on this booking BKK-DXB-LIS.

Advance passenger information is lifted directly from the machine readable code on the bottom of your passport. This is what's transmitted to authorities at your destination. What appears in airline systems to satisfy themselves to carry you isn't usually the problem - there are lots of variations with the order of the name, middle names (sometimes just initials), and how the names appear.

So you believe that the eticket only having an initial for my middle name won't cause EK to have a spack attack, when I front up to checkin at BKK.

I don't believe it will be an issue at all. I've had tickets on multiple airlines to multiple destinations (including USA) that have had no middle name, an initial only for the middle name, and full middle name. Check-in (and TSA) hasn't even batted an eyelid.
