I really should get a scooter, never bothered to get my bike license, and whenever I see a tourist riding one (somewhere safe that is), I think, I'd like to do that!

Mrs Cossie has said she would be game to get on the back, but you need your license for a few years before you can take pillions, I believe.

Mind you she is a little reticent about bikes, about 20 years ago she went into work (ICU) and didn't recognise that her patient for the day was one of my sisters. Once she realised, of course she was moved to another patient.

My sister had been riding pillion, the dropkick rider overtook a car on on a blind bend and sideswiped a truck, my sister now permanently resides in a nursing home and is minus her right leg as well as having a severe brain injury.

Puts the trivial things in perspective.

Never been good with alcohol. So I’ve never been drunk

Mrs QS and I went to a Chinese wedding reception
Round tables
Bottle of expensive Cognac per table.
Bride and Groom attend each table so that each table can toast them.
Best man does drinking on behalf of Groom
So Mrs goes to join the entourage who follow the cognac toasting party around each table.
MrsQS forgets that there is a delay between imbibing and alcohol effect. She got to 15 shots!!. Needless to say she found room under the table.

Search you tube video “yum sing wedding” to get a sense of what goes on at a Chinese wedding reception. The harder the liquor the more prestigious

Years ago I had to reverse park up a hill in a manual as part of the driving test to get the license

There was a quite a well known street in Lyneham near to where the old rego office was, all instructors would take you there to do a hand brake hill start. Now with all the extra assist thingies, do you even have to be able to show that you can do an unaided hill start?
If I had lived in that street in Lyneham, I would have taken photos of inept displays, who knows, it may have have been good blackmail material! (said very much tounge in cheek)

synchromesh, was ist das?

Currently P plate hopefuls have to turn off reverse camera, hill hold and auto park. I’m sure points deducted in test if emergency brake activated before driver.

Many fail at our local RMS because they don’t see the Stop sign that is within the car park.

Today my hire car has no prox sensors.. it's amazing how used to and dependent one becomes on electronic gadgets

Last year someone at work back into my car in the work car park. She claimed her sensors must not have beeped (relatively new BMW hatch). So clearly she was not looking either over her shoulder or on a reversing camera.

We had a private box at the Sumo in Tokyo and those Japanese business men can put it away but they are such light weights, Im surprised they make it home.

One tried to get hubby to drink but he begged off, pointing at me and saying the boss wont let him drink it. They then tried to council him on being the man of the household.

I hate to admit that since my newish car has a rear camera and sensors, my reliance on my own ability to see and hear seems to have dropped off.

Honest officer I didn't see/hear that other thing cos I was concentrating on my reversing camera :)
