Vinomofo Wine Deals

Is it immoral to return perfectly good bottles back to VM to make room for this ? I'm already overflowing.

I'm actually considering doing the same thing, ship back those 3 Oceans - Explorer's Shiraz (was ok) to make room for these!

The returns system is intentionally generous and I don't doubt that is to encourage people to buy. I daresay it is rather successful at doing so.
So in my opinion it should be used freely.

I liked it so much I just ordered another 2 cases. Others here have also enjoyed it. Here are my tasting notes:

Wow, what a fabulous cabernet. Very deep in colour, with wonderful complexity and perfect balance. Perfectly ripened cassis and violets on the front palate giving way to a wonderland of complex savoury flavours on the back palate - tobacco, tar, bay leaf and burnt cedar all mingle in a seamless combination. The exceptionally fine grained tannins, barely perceptible. Faultless. I don’t recall ever having tasted such a well composed cabernet at such a young age. Utterly spellbinding. 97 Points on CT from me.

Sorry I don't know about the shiraz.

Boom for me, I liked the George and have a sixer of the 2012 swing in the back of the cupboard, might as well finish off the collection.

Here's what I wrote about the swing and the B&S comparison in the nice wines thread:

Okay, I’m quickly turning into an ardent Fox Gordon fan. Hanna’s Swing is a young wine, but still very well composed. Mouthfuls of fresh and vibrant blackberry and plumb fruit on the front of the palate, with a hint of peppery spice, tar and graphite in supporting roles. The tannins still slightly grippy but not overly drying. The use of oak is restrained, leaving nothing but some subtle cedar overtones. Good balance and a nice long finish. Scrumptious. A 94 on CT from me.

There were some interesting parallels with the Brothers and Sisters cab sav. Both wines have a real vibrancy to the fruit shining through. They also both have restrained oak treatment and very nice poise and balance. I'm not sure that Hannah's Swing is quite in the same league as Brothers and Sisters, but it is very close, and the family resemblance is quite marked.

I've taken a punt on a 6-pack, will send it back (like I did the Cantiniere) if it doesn't live up to expectations created by the VM hype.

Good point, the returns policy could get me over the line. I've got the once-bitten nerves from Cantiniere.

Anyone tried the homeless yet ?
Mine has been waiting patiently here for my return

OT.. but typical vm … Click on the regular link from Chile and get a typically breathless burst of vm spin about my overseas location and my interest in a purchasing from a local vm (franchise?? ) if they set one up…..

Yep - It's surprisingly quite decent IMHO.

It will certainly reward aging as it's quite young, but drinks well enough at this stage. Not bad for $15.

Yes, thank you DB, i saw it flying off the shelf earlier today, up to 3 cases per person, and boom for me seeing as it was a return to shelves. Nice to know i wasn't rash ☺

Life is too short to feel disappointed and cheated - when you do try it, if you don't like it use the Fo's excellent return garuntee - you have 12 months from purchasing

Steady! As much as i was trying to give the Gundagai shiraz more time, just had to try another bottle. It's a long trip..first again the reminiscence of the Blustery Banks pinot 2013 from Spreighton, but over the ensuing hour caramel nose, richness on taste, oh yes, a very tasty drop :)

I know! I had it in my cart trying to decide at work (already overspent this month!) then came back after a meeting and my mind was made for me...hopefully it might pop up again, I'll be quicker on the trigger next time!
