Vinomofo Wine Deals

Re: Vinomofo secret wine deals

Hopefully no worry here beefarmer, I should have referred to Dr Ralph's comment.

I thought I may have missed a policy change or something that changed the current next to nil risk when buying from the Fo.

Whilst the money back promise hasn't changed, I'd rather not waste my time taking it up. When I have used it previously it has been VERY difficult to arrange for the courier to collect the items for return. In one instance I waited over a month to get my money back. So it's not correct to say that there is no risk or 'next to nil risk'. There is certainly a risk of wasting my time. Which is extremely valuable to myself and the people that pay me money to undertake activities for them.

Re: Vinomofo secret wine deals

I agree with Dr Ralph. Whilst the policy is generous on paper, the logistics of executing it can be difficult, especially for those of us who combine busy work schedules and frequent travelling.

FWIW, I have purchased one salvation case, and never again. YMMV.

I had the Cantiniere returned and collected the same day I phoned VinoMofo. I knew NextDay were coming that day, so I just left the box of Cantiniere outside the front door and put a big note on it for NextDay saying: NEXTDAY RETURN to VinoMofo - stock return. And they did it - there was an hour between the call to customer service and the delivery / collection. Very impressed Mo Fo. It meant I got my credit the next day to spend on the very nice Mother Vine.

It seems like a common theme for you, Dr Raplh that NextDay are letting you down. Looks like you might have a dud depot.

And to bring this on point - all those returned wines - even the ones left out for collection - end up in the Salvation Cases. I have had the Ace Pack so far (and have had my snobby prejudices put in check). But I am just not brave enough to go for a Salvation Case. As DMnz said, the price is just not cheap enough, well not to tempt me, particularly when I am being bombarded by WineMarket offers for wine under $6, $7, $8 a bottle (which also get deleted as soon as I see those prices).

I live in a unit complex so that isn't possible. It also means there are significant problems with delivery because I'm rarely home and can't collect from any depot.

Nextday are hopeless. Sooner VM return to AusPost or offer a choice of delivery methods my spend will increase with them. It's down at least 80% this year, primarily because of their cough delivery method.

Re: Vinomofo secret wine deals

Actually there are 3, that I've just discovered.

But does that work for returns as well?

I don't know, but I guess so. There's a returns option on the ParcelPoint website, or maybe you just tell VM to pick it up from the PP location.

Re: Vinomofo secret wine deals

Here I was looking at today's tasty morsels, when I noticed some wording that I am sure that when you read it sounds like an adventure that the buyer Kate had with a very dark and handsome man named Monte Pulciano. It really does sound like a fifty shades of grey part deux introduction. I believe she was describing the place, the mood, the food, the delight, and the man who shared her tryst.....here it is "dark plums, black cherries(?) sea mist and forest floor are complemented by notes of fresh leather(oh my, she's taken his belt of with her teeth) and dark delicious chocolate". oh my, is this really what you get from a bot of hand crafted(!) montepulciano. Sounds like a meg Ryan, I,LL have whatever she's having type of situation.

Re: Vinomofo secret wine deals

I've been relatively happy with my Salvation Cases. I have ordered 3 of them, and only had a handful of bottles that I was unhappy with (usually a coughpy white blend - yeah, of course I still drank it, Mum taught me not to waste).
For the most part they were tasty quaffers with the occasional gem and I still felt like I got some value plus a chance at trying different things. Judging by previous responses, people's experiences vary wildly.

I tend to agree. I contacted VM over a week ago to get my Cantiniere picked up and am still waiting. It doesn't bother me so much having it sit there, but would prefer to have one less thing to sort out.
I may try Wozza's approach though - I'm meant to be getting an order arrive later this week, so will see if leaving it for them will work.

Don't worry BC, your neighbors would have thought they were European beers.

Too late - I got the SMS delivery notice straight after this. I get my delivery two days early, yet keep waiting in hope for the pick-up notice - mixed emotions!

I also returned the dreaded Cantiniere, took 1 week for the courier to collect, credit was issued that same day,

No complaints here returning to the Fo...

pretty sure there will be a few Cantiniere bottles in some salvation cases... but not for me I'm afraid...

Yarra Valley Pinot was a bust. Tasted like watery sugar free red cordial. Zero structure, zero depth. Will be going back tomorrow, it's junk. I would be ashamed to give it to anyone and call it wine.

On the other hand, drinking a Jones block Shiraz in celebration of the SO's final exam.

This wine is impossible. I'm sure there are way more out there like it and I am just starting to find the good stuff, but this is other level. How is it grapes?

Looking forward to this journey :)

...and what was it, thirty five dollars for this cough. Probably worse than the la porchettas house white.....and that's ludicrous for elev bucks for half a litre. Thank God for the 'honest' wines out there.

One of those honest wines is the BC recommended 2014 Yarra Valley syrah made by the Bystanders. Loved your Viv review Wozza, this is truly one of 'those' wines, the ones that we rate so highly that truly excite us. Again, give up the law and start writing reviews. You are much more loquacious and verbose in a Mills and Boony type of way, dialogue that excited everybody with your adjectives and details. I feel the wine Wozza, I smell it, I want it. That's what great reviewers have and you got it man !

Now, I will stop this man love right here and comment that MOSTLY a six pack of a twenty bucker when it's good is obviously going to smash a ten to fourteen bucker twelve pack for near the same coin. I know this is a little rhetorical and probably obvious, but not for all I am sure.

Katy is one lucky gal today !

The TS 94 points matches & I seem to remember them using the part about being a cult producer for other Ulithorne wines. Agree the blend is way off.
