Qantas Frequent Flyer today officially launched its new online hub qantaspoints.com, featuring an Online Mall stocked with premium global brands, as it continues to expand what’s on offer to its diverse member base.

The Frequent Flyer Concierge team takes the hard work out of finding reward seat availability. Using their expert knowledge and specialised tools, they'll help you book a great trip that maximises the value for your points.

Spurious apostrophe notwithstanding, I suppose this is QF's answer to VA's Velocity eStore.

Hmmmm, one can only imagine the number of points required for a premium toaster eh if even the cheapies are somewhat eye watering...

Pity they can't get coles or woolies or something you would use more day to day, but I guess they aren't premium enough...

Looks good. Signed in and had a play around, though I see if I want to buy something with points I'm directed back to where I went before, so am I missing something, or will things eventually be migrated over to one central location (for both cash and/or points purchases)?

Nope

Not impressed went to see flight awards and sends you back and you have to log in again after already logging in. Can not see why they need an additional website why not just make another Icon on the Qantas.com website.

Sorry but seems a total waste of time energy and money to me......

Stinks of QFFP sell off to me......

Can not see any advantage to this additional website from a customer perspective...

Well having the shopping portal is a nice option for earning extra points if all prices are the same.

Maybe you're not the type of customer QF Loyalty believe will extract value from the QF Online Mall? ;)

At over 10M people, the diversity of members and their preferences will mean that there will be some people who will jump at the chance to earn points this way, while others will keep on keeping on with flying earn and burn.

Not a fan. Why was there a need for another website that couldn't be done through qantas.com?

Either this is a precursor to a QFF spin off, or Qantas is now concentrating on selling points, not transport.

I agree it does look very much like a first stage to a QFF split and sell off.

Hmmm should i start to burn points now.....

See how it goes maybe

Epiqure is a separate website with a separate login so I don't really see a problem for the shopping portal and it is a similar idea to the Virgin one not sure if all the other stuff is required though as it really just duplicates the FF section on qantas.com. Having netaporter in there at 4 points per $ is both very exciting and completely horrifying my poor credit card  new bags/shoes/clothes now with points, too tempting.

And many people here complain about how VA is amateur hour, yet QF are now emulating them?

For the record I hope QFF doesn't get sold. Having seen the mess that is Aeroplan, it's not good for the customer.

The thing that got me was the ad at the bottom touting how the average member with a direct earn CC earns enough points in a year for SYD-HTI... that seems very low to me! I earned that much on Qcash this past year and that earns far less than a CC. Oh to dream of a time I could earn more!

I do get the idea a little more now, having read posts, and am intrigued by the idea I can earn points on my regular eBay shopping...

How much regular eBay shopping do you do??

I just buy the odd plug, adaptor etc have you found some way to do more regular weekly shopping on it???

Ebay… enough to get to London and back for me I'd say. I am pretty excited about it haha.
(the +1 said likely to be in F as well but we will see…)
