I see that swiping your Virgin Velocity card at "selected BP stations" will finally get you 2 Virgin Velocity points per $.
I am local champion at mine so also get 2 ppd for my AMEX

Here is the link to the selected stations - BP Australia | Travel Planner

yeah its great, all my fuel and hotels i pay for and get weekly reimbursements,,, so i use my Virgin Money High Flyer, pay for fuel and food from Bp, swipe my plat card, and then pay for hotels on it too,,, i rake in about 10k points a month min from my little points tally.

It says it excludes fleet cards but can you use a BP+ fuel card to pay?

To use a BP+ fuel card to pay, you could (only) try.
But bring along your VGW card to swipe down the side first, then tap with your other payment card.
It seems to be a separate procedure, one to earn the bonus for buying, the other is the bonus for paying.
There has been a lot of replies on the other thread, so the Mods might merge this one with the other thread.
I think its "Ask Velocity" or something similar.
This one is a good thing though, and will raise my VF FF points tally, when I am not flying... pity EDR can't be like this for non fuel purchases. And also having to buy more than $30 worth of fuel at that, if I do go out with a driver, I have to spend $30 for that drive, instead of just putting my part share of the ride, say $15 and not earn anything under EDR/QF FF.

The Frequent Flyer Concierge team takes the hard work out of finding reward seat availability. Using their expert knowledge and specialised tools, they'll help you book a great trip that maximises the value for your points.

I was so excited about this until I read the bit about fleet cards :( I would have a nice little 10,000 points at the end of the year if not for the little *

2/2 fails.

First one - machine error had to be completely reset.

Second one - paying cash, didn't swipe in time.

Given each purchase was a coffee no big deal but I'm yet to have a successful points swipe.

Still annoyed I don't get points with BP plus.

You've got that mixed up - you need to spend $30 at Woolies to earn a fuel voucher, which is then redeemed for four cents or two points per litre, regardless of spend. If you have a voucher under your account and grab only 10 litres, you'll still earn two points per litre.

Must say I'm happy this has come along. Mrs Excel occasionally fills up at BP and is reimbursed for fuel, so can't complain. This may slowly contribute to an upgrade if and when I ever fly VA.

Tried this for the first time today, and it all seemed to work. The 2 points/L does somewhat penalize those of us who have to buy premium fuel. Each point is more expensive. Still really pleased with it, though.

I have only filled up once so far and that was on Sunday morning and points were in my account Monday morning... Awesome.

Certainly does have the benefit of not having to always be certain I have a fuel Woolies voucher on my EDR. The way I see it, if I do a woolies shop over $30, then QF points @ Caltex, if not BP, as no voucher required.

Slightly OT, but I'm interested as to how you value points (particularly Velocity, as I haven't redeemed on them yet). I value QFF points at approx 1.5 cents; and take the 4c/l discount over the 2 points per litre (which effectively is a 2 cent per point purchase). However, in PER, BP are consistently 4-5c/l more expensive than Caltex/Woolworths stations, so I'm interested how you'd take that in to account.

(I also buy CW vouchers at 5% off and CW stations earn Myer One points, so the equation is actually quite complex!).

TBH mate, I am new to the points game. So nothing too complex. In this instance, it just comes down to work and personal.

Personal - Always have and will use BP 98; regardless of how much more expensive. So to now get points and no 'voucher' required, is great way to benefit from what I always did anyway.

Work - I have been using my EDR voucher to use @ Caltex to fill up the work car once a week. That gives me min 100 QF points, using the Motorpass card. If I don't have a EDR voucher, I use Shell and at least get flybuys.
Motorpass, as it turns out, is not inclusive of the BP Velocity deal.

Ah ok, makes sense. If you're always going to get one product (or get reimbursed) one way or another then the points just come as a bonus :)

Found out today that you can't earn velocity points when you pay with your BP+ card.

Given a BP+ card gives you nothing that is an absolute joke isn't ....clearly they think they 'have you already' so no need to provide an incentive ......all that has done is to see me bin my BP+ card........

So far filled up twice at BP, earnt 132 and 164 points each time. Plus the 1.5ppd on the Amex. And the 8c/L discount because I felt like some choccies ;)

I'm filling up two cars a week... so... not too bad."

Pretty simple. Fill up, swipe VFF card, swipe CC, claim receipt :)

Having vouchers is getting rare for me. I'm down from a weekly woolies shop to a monthly one. Since Woolies started trying to compete with Aldi by lowering the range of brands they carry, and going all own brand, I've started buying more and more from my local Super IGA...

I just don't get that many vouchers anymore, and never shop at Coles.

My woollies shopping is hardly ever for general groceries. I've got a BigW egiftcard or two, mainly usage has been for Opal top-ups, CW giftcard, Myer Giftcard, Amaysim vouchers and a couple of genuine grocery items. So in effect I am getting 7.5% off plus 3 pts (platinum edge) plus any EDR points (and occassional bonuses) for expenditure that normally does not attract a discount AND would give lower points via "normal" channels. Enough of a reason to buy egiftcards for me.
