At last ! BP now accepting Virgin Velocity for points

One last one from me on this thread: I certainly do hope that BP/OTR and VA FF/VR FF make money/enough money out of this to keep the whole thing going for a long time.
Remember WOW mobile, was nice while it lasted!!!
For now, as with the rest, I am very happy with the BP and VA tie in, in my case, better than EDR for small purchases.
I don't have a WOW or Caltex outlet near me, so the BP/OTR is the closest for VA's VR earn for me.

Struggling to use your Frequent Flyer Points?

Frequent Flyer Concierge takes the hard work out of finding award availability and redeeming your frequent flyer or credit card points for flights.

Using their expert knowledge and specialised tools, the Frequent Flyer Concierge team at Frequent Flyer Concierge will help you book a great trip that maximises the value for your points.

You should get a print out from the counter person for the purchase that should show on the bottom of the receipt (you have earnt 24 point-$12 purchase), and then 6 points if you use VGW to pay, later in your VGW account, which then transfers to VF FF statement.
Give it a few days more.
One thing though, with the temporary card, you still need to physically go to your VF FF account, and link the temporary card to your account. If you have not linked the data on the temporary card, do it before your next spend at BP/OTR (SA).
I already got the VGW, but my impression, from the first time, I thought it was a separate card, but the counter person in my case said, to try the VGW first, and it worked for me, the 24 points on a base spend of $12 appeared in my VGW account few days later.

Correct, I have found a few times if staff a busy or are not 100% sure how to do it, they will pass it off as being done and try move you on. Don't let them do that, persist and ask for the receipt that indicates VF points earned.

Gday

Yeah the staff fobbed me off when i went to use it. My card wouldn't work so he gave me a temporary one which didnt work either. Nothing on the receipt. Second time i used it it did have something on the receipt. Tried to link the temporary card but it failed. Rang up Velocity and the bloke linked the temporary card for me. He said my original Velocity card wont work because it is too old(May 2010). He is sending out a new one. I will have to do a retro claim for the points when i first tried it and the bloke shafted me.

Pele.

Not that I purchase a lot of fuel but this was a big fail for me this weekend.

Filled up at BP Bowen Hills Saturday night and I was counting money to get rid of some change and when I asked to scan my card he said too late as he had already printed a receipt. Only ~11 litres so not the end of the world but doesn't need to be this difficult.

And then this morning at BP Milton filled up again and this time I made sure I handed my card to scan first and he shows me the dead Eftpos terminal.

Im looking at a receipt from when my husband used a registered temp card last week and it has no mention of Velocity or points.

Im also looking at a receipt from 04.05.15 that says I have earned 80 points but those points have not come into my account yet.

Seems like a fail & fail so far for me.

Just spent 26mins on the phone, spoke to 3 different people and despite seeing the temp card linked to hubbys Velocity account online - Im told they weren't linked.

Will have to wait another 72hrs to see if the problem is fixed.

Success in using VFF x 3.

A few weeks back received emails saying our 3 children's points in their accounts were going to expire at April 30 unless some activity. Unfortunately Eur rtn this Dec not good enough. Two days later "BP Offer" email.

Problem solved...

Not so easy, first 2 BPs didn't participate then 3rd BP was successful. Very, very helpful lady happily tried splitting the fuel purchase into 3 VFF claims (as it was not busy and why not she said).

So swiped 3 separate VFF (new style cards from 2014) and 3 successes.

Just to be sure rang the 'Help' line and they confirmed all 3 purchases had registered. Each purchase had ensured the accounts would remain active and no points expiry. Now to family pool so main flyer will get max pints bonus ongoing...

BTW - it is not 2 points per litre BUT 2 points per $ spent.

Mine posted as 2pts/L.

Any in store purchases should post as 2pts/$

If your petrol posted as 2/$ I would take that and run.

Yep

Tried it out last night and was 2 pts per litre in my velocity account today..The 2 pts per $ above may have be luck due to the sales assistant splitting it up for you

Our cards are now working and points finally showed up.

Hubby gave me a fuel receipt last night BUT, it doesn't have all the Virgin info printed on it and it is a participating BP so hmmmmm.

I filled up this morning and between swiping my Velocity card and the guy actually processing my fuel pump info, the device timed out and I had to swipe again, otherwise VA points would not have registered.

I was very happy to see this new partnership and I was looking forward to start using it. However, we have a fleet card, so we don't qualify... Such a shame. I would have rather used BP, but I guess we will continue to use Shell, where they accept flybuys even with fleet cards...

That explains it, maybe. My platinum card wouldn't work today. They asked me if I've activated the card. I thought my velocity card would just work. Anyway, I have a temporary card to activate.

Used this for the first time today, very handy and easy... Impressed by the ability to use the traditional EFTPOS machine to process Velocity also...

This is the first time my velocity account has seen any points coming into it in around 2 years.. I generally always use BP anyway so have requested a proper card to replace the temp one.
I also bought a coke for $2 from BP the other day and realised I got 4 points for that, I thought it was only for fuel?

Now all we need is a way to triple dip - buying cards at a discount to buy petrol at BP using a points generating cc - the challenge is OPEN!

It all adds up; Defiantly earning points at BP has influenced me in looking out for the BPs that are earning points, even while I've been up here in CNS on Vacation - Add the 50 points in fuel up here to the 80 points I got in Airport Parking off-site, and thats more than the 0 points if I did neither the fuel or parking.

Im not complaining with my Plat Edge @ 2pts/$1 plus the Velocity bonus... :)

I am not with Velocity and buy fuel weekly at BP. 4,500 points will give me a $25.00 BP gift card. That means I will need 2,250 litres at $1.50 per litre for 98 Octane costing $3,375.00 to obtain a $25.00 fuel card. A 0.74% discount, not even 1%. This is a joke. Why should I receive the same number of points for 98 Octane as someone buying regular unleaded at18cents per litre cheaper? 3 points for 98 Octane might make it worth it. BTW, the BP Premium used to be only 12cents over unleaded! Just another example of a company paying cheaply to track your spending habits. Don't join until they improve the offer is my recommendation.
