Anyone here used Youtrip? Been seeing it and was wondering if it’s actually any good
ahh right, so if I chuck too much in I can’t transfer it back out? good to knowcons: can’t transfer funds to non-YouTrip accounts, so can only withdraw as cash via ATM, or spend via debit card - also can only add/top-up in AUD
Ahh yeah, saw the 2% cashback promo is ending at the end of the month. Been thinking of getting one now so I can still qualify and give it a go while the cashback’s still onSeems good, especially with the 2% cashback - and I know some sites are running bonuses on sign up as well. The FX rates are the MasterCard rates - which is about as good as you'll get.
To me though it seems a lot less hassle to get an ING or Macquarie debit card and just use that - unless you're travelling before the 2% cashback expires.
That actually doesn’t sound too bad, my Wise limit is only $400 now iirc for international and domestic. Although if I’m doing a road trip through Indonesia for a couple weeks, I reckon I’d probably hit the YouTrip limitLike the wise card the limit on no fee withdrawals is a PITA
International ATM Fees: Free for up to 1,500 AUD per calendar month, 2% fee applies to withdrawals exceeding 1,500 AUD. (Individual ATM providers may charge their own local fees)
Domestic ATM Fees: Free for up to 400 AUD per calendar month, 2% fee applies to withdrawals exceeding 400 AUD. (Individual ATM providers may charge their own local fees)
What happened? I’m literally about to sign up today haha, probably good to know what I’m getting myself into firstHave used. Their KYC process is ... interesting.

Gotcha, might just apply then and give it a go. Keen to see how the exchange rates stack up and whether I run into any dramasJust lots of going in circles and excessive requests for info. But I was using it for something unusual, I think if you were using it as a basic travel currency card and not putting >$10k per month through it, you're unlikely to get KYC'ed.

Thank god I was planning to sign up after dinner or I would’ve completely missed the code hahaIf you sign up with Youtrip, use coupon code YTNEW10 at the last step (after you do the license/passport and face check) to get a bonus $10 (it's not a referral code).
I signed up 9th August and received physical card in mail (Melb metro) 19th August.
Been using the virtual card via Paypal on Aliexpress, no problems whatsoever.
Can load from credit card without a cash advance fee, too. I've also tested deposits into the Youtrip account from Macquarie via payid, works fine.
Exchange rate slightly better than Bendigo/Up when I've checked.
Via the app, it shows the date the 2% cashback bonus 'expires' on your account, too!
Will be testing it overseas next week.
Thank you for sharing your experience with the card. Did you still get the cashback when paying on AliExpress through Paypal in another currency? Assuming you paid in chinese yuan?
