I've just hit QF Gold whilst in the middle of a trip to Europe. As such, I don't have a new gold card yet.

Now I have major issues with my return flights home on Emirates (Qantas codeshare). Emirates are saying that my status has not updated from QF Silver to QF Gold and as such I won't be able to choose seats from the "preferred seat" category or access the EK Lounge in CDG and DXB.

Called EK to check and they said it showed QF Silver. Called QF who said that it showed QF Gold on their end (obviously) and they didn't know why it was showing QF Silver on Emirates and why it had not updated.

QF said that they would need to speak to EK to rectify this and make sure the EK booking showed QF Gold

Emirates was closed when I called Qantas so need to call back tomorrow.

Has anyone had a similar issue, if so how did you rectify it and did it present any other issues down the track? Doesn't look like QF and EK systems talk to each other (although that isn't really surprising)!

Print out the page from your Qantas logon and present that with your check in documents. Emirates are used to calling Qantas for lounge access issues and the printout should ease the process.

Maybe also try removing your QFF# from the booking, and re-adding it, it may re-poll the QFF system and update the status. Perhaps do this from EK MMB.

+1 for removing number, saving, adding number, saving to “flush” the status on your PNR

The advice of others to simply remove the FF number and get it re-entered will do the trick.

I'll say it again... reservations are excellent... for making bookings. Anything else... seating, baggage allowances, visas, frequent flyer issues... come to the place where the experts are! (here)

So I have deleted and re-entered my FF number on EK, AY and QF - still has not clicked over to Gold on EK MMB both QF and AY are showing Gold.

I am going to call QF and see if they can speak to EK about it. I doubt anything will happen but we'll see.

Did you delete the number, log out of the booking, go back in and then re-enter the number? It can sometimes take a few minutes. Have seen this with AA, CX and BA systems. It's not necessarily instantaneous.

QF should be able to fix it on the spot without needing to speak to EK. They just need to delete all references in both fields with the current FF number, and then re-enter them.

Usually sorted within 24 hours. Is this a time sensitive requirement ?

Deleted, logged out and logged back in, waited a few minutes then re-added.

QF advised that there was no point calling EK (different story to yesterday) and they deleted the FF number in all fields, saved and re-added/refreshed and it was showing Gold on the booking.

I am going to call EK to check now.

Okay I've just got off the phone from EK - still showing Silver on their system but the agent logged into the Qantas Manage Booking where it was showing Gold. She said the only thing is that it may take a few days to click over because there is no live feed for FF status.

I guess I will have to try in a few days time and see if it has clicked over or not. If not she said to print out something from Qantas to show that I was Gold simply for lounge access.

It should show Gold when you check in. Save the BP to your phone.

I had a very similar issue when I went from SG to WP, not matter what EK tried manually, their system would not recognize the new status. I had the duty manager at MEL call Qantas to verify my status, I showed my status online et cetera, I got sympathy from EK but unless their system showed the correct status they could not help me.

I returned (CDG-DXB-MEL myself) and all was good.

Hopefully, time is on your side and the EK system will recognize your new status soon.

Regards,

BD

Can confirm the take number off and put back on. Checked into my flight from BKK yesterday and was shown as Silver. Went to the lounge, they said I didn't have access but I told them I just clicked over. Also had the app on my phone so just showed them that and it was sorted in about a minute.

Try flying when you get downgraded this happened a few years back going from WP to G. Lobbing in with the Plat card on the first flight before rollover was effective but from there on the booking says Gold!

I still made all the F Lounges!
