Worse than feet on bulkheads

Basketball is played indoors, so isn't it appropriate to wear a basketball cap inside?
One thing I noticed when I was posted to the US in 1978, was that most males wore baseball hats, and keep them on when eating a meal in either their home or in restaurants. Having come from being used to see men in Australia always remove their hats when going indoors, it was the start of the learning process about the US customs. It would appear the these times are gone forever. like many other customs and mannerisms.

My husband had significant brain surgery lovely long incisions and such like , there was also a large indentation which was very unpleasant post surgery . He wore his hat in a coffee shop. A man older than him had a go at him. Husband (the placid and calm man out ) took off his akubra and asked the man how he was , because the man absolutely went white and was horrified. He and his wife left the coffee shop. Husband then put his hat back on. It wasn't fine dining, or an rsl just a basic coffee shop in a shopping centre .

My husband wanted to go out

Edited to ask : @bussyboy why is my post cause for laughter ? Just curious ?

It is funny in an aussie kind of way.
....
Edit: rest of post removed as it detracts from @mrsterryn story.

100%. I had surgery (twice) on my head and it certainly wasn't a pretty sight with staples in it. I wore a hat indoors and out, including work, for quite some time. To hell with what anyone thought. You never know someone's circumstances. That said, I don't unnecessarily wear a hat at the dinner table or indoors generally. That's how I was brought up.

I do have to say my husband was brought up with no hats inside , but this was when he could finally safely leave home and go out and do something just regular . Mind you he did have a quiet chuckle over the other guy's horrified expression lol

^ Wow ... you need to do something really disgusting before you find me agreeing with the person who commits Country Music ... but in this case, she's right. She may be responsible for all sorts of horrible assaults on people's ears & probably needs to be gaoled on treason charges, but she's right about the disgusting behaviour of Foot Person.

It’s likely the foot was her husband’s, sitting behind her.

The normal reaction in that situation would be either alert a flight attendant, or pop your head over the seat to ask the person to stop.

The b@stard in Row 4d JQ125 on 30 October Adelaide to Bali who coughed continuously with no attempt at covering up and now giving me his filth. One of those larger than life people, good ole, noisy, yapped all the time, multiple bags that he threw up into various lockers. We knew he would recline back into MrP but was hoping he was no longer infectious.

I'd also like to extend my thanks to 17K on QF82 27 Oct for the same reason - coughed every few seconds for HOURS. They likely passed whatever they had on to two of us.

When they eventually felt asleep they did so with their overhead light on and screen playing at full brightness for the entire night flight...

If they’d used the airline-logo machete to remove the foot, as I’d like to believe is the normal solution, I guess we’d have known.

Bullsh*t-for-clicks doesn’t surprise me though. The kiddies seem very … swayed, by BS. And these kiddies own the future. Hmmm.

I would have been waking them up and telling them to turn it down.

That’s exactly what an eye mask is for. One of those annoying things you really can’t do much about - folk leaving their overhead light on etc.

Sometimes I cycle my light on, then off, to see if they notice. But if they don’t. Different from snoring etc, which can’t be blocked out.
