Fellow soccer fans,

Someone in our Singapore office sent me the following link this morning.
http://www.excely.com/world-cup-2006.html

This web page has a free downloadable Excel spreadsheet showing the full World Cup 2006 match timetable. Just select your timezone in the drop-down field and the table updates itself to show match start times for your timezone. Cool!

Your wives will no doubt thank me for this.

Yada Yada, if she only knew who you were she says she'd love to thank you in person  .

Unfortunately, she doesn't share my enthusiasm for the world game...to her it's Union.

It's a shame Yada Yada won't be at OzFest III this weekend to receive his thanks in person.

Tough S14 season for Mrs QF WP then .... :-|

I've raised my right hand and solemly promised not to mention the Reds this weekend. ;)

What about the black and reds? :D

Perhaps it is just as well I'm not at Oz Fest III!

Even having played soccer for 30 years (yes, showing my age now), I am not fanatical about watching the world cup. I may watch a few games, but I am not going to stay up all night to do so.

Now my soccer watching is generally limited to the Under 12's game on Saturday morning. I am normally carrying a flag and running up and down the sideline, which is a real turnaround given some of the things I have said under my breath about linesman and the off-side rule and their optical accuracy :D.

Heh heh heh! What goes around...

I played many years too, and more recently got my referee badge and ref'd both junior and senior (i.e. all-age) matches. I'd referee or run the line for the grown-ups any day over the juniors. That can be hell! :D

I suppose I could wear a helmet. :p

Hope you all have fun. I would have liked to attend and to meet Brett Godfrey but I already spend enough time away from my family.

As posted by Lindsay Wilson that meeting is off, but may be rescheduled for another date.

Hmmm. If you started playing soccer at 4 years of age and you have been playing for 30 years that would make you 34 years old. That is not very old at all. You are still a spring chicken. :)

I like that theory ... unfortunately there are a few holes in it .

I don't think I mentioned how old I was when I started, not how long ago I played my last game.

Yes but no one needs to know the truth if we keep that information confined to the playground. ;)

Mrs NM knows the truth ... and she is all that matters in this area :p. Lindsay also know your calculations are not possibe. Maybe if I had started playing soccer when I was 4 years old I may have actually learned some decent skills and been good at it .... alas I missed my prime.

World Cup matches

Don't know about everybody else, but I'll be glad in a way when it finishes...it's almost finished me  (all these 1am, 3am or 5am wake-ups).

although it has allowed me to stay abreast of FT matters when the games have been a little slow.

England v Portugal 0-0 at full time in the 1/4 Final . Here comes extra time . Excellent, Portugal through after penalties.

Now to watch Brazil v France.

They are hell?
How about their parents? From what I have seen watching junior sports, parents are hell!

Thought for the day:

You know you're getting older when you fall asleep on the sofa in front of your parents-in-law and wife's 5 year old niece (when they're over for lunch) and you're the one who has to go for the kindy nap...I woke up two hours later  :D

Note to self: you're getting older :-|

Yes, that's in fact what I meant. The kids are fine. The parents and some coaches leave much to be desired. :(

World Cup SF

Well, with only 1 match left to watch, I can almost get back to full night sleeps. But I am disappointed with who made the final.

Yeah, both finalists! The Italians because of how the defeated Australia; and the French ... well just because they are French :p .

Not watching the alternate final? Germany vs Portugal!
