Wine Glasses, Decanters etc

I have enough wine and champagne glasses ....so +1 said not to redeem for those :(

Ended up getting 4 short and 4 long tumblers with not enough cupboard space now :(

My favourite Coles promos are the knives and cooking pans promo :)
Local stores only had the Red Wine glasses available (and lots).

I passed on paying $18 for 2 ... no care re credits.

for those chasing the coles glassware, to my surprise, Facebook market place, many people are selling these for half RRP
the cheapest ive seen is $12.50 for the $40 ones if you buy more than one

Can anyone give some recommendations for 2x high end wine glasses?

Riedel is always up there.
Gabriel glas standard is about $25 each
Gold is $70 each
Zalto is about $70 each

Are the 25 vs $70 that much different?
See my earlier post - number 369 in this thread - for an opinion on Spiegelau as an alternative to Zalto.
(Love my Zalto collection, though. :))

Glasses from both sets go into the dishwasher daily. All still going strong. Have not had one break in the dishwasher ever (on Delicate, and only glasses in that drawer).

A careless guest did demolish a Zalto recently - but he didn't seem bothered by that! 🤷‍♀️ :)

There are some bargains around on the Spiegelau Definition. Just google for options. Price will depend on the style you prefer.

Zalto and GGG are significantly thinner and feel more premium but they are also far more fragile. We use the standard Gabriel most of the time and will only go for the premium glassware on special occasions or when opening a really nice bottle.

In conclusion it’s good to have few options but if choosing one then I’d go with the standard Gabriel.

Agree on SD they are good day to day alternative to Zalto. We use mostly the Bordeaux and Burgundy glassware. For universal we prefer Gabriel standard / gold.

We dont drink alcohol but I grabbed a few boxes with my Coles credits for guests 🤣

Im so clumsy, I prefer buying glasses at a catering/restaurant store because they are more robust for handling

My office bought about 100 flute glasses that were so fragile on the day we unboxed them, it was like hearing a waterfall of broken glasses every now and then, as one toppled over and when trying to grab it, the person knocked over a few more

Ouch!
What an awful image that is!
Whether the glass were filled or empty, equally horrifying. 😱 😱
Although I do like your description of "hearing a waterfall", Denali. :)
