According to reports, coronavirus vaccine is entering its final phase of testing and very soon we will have millions of coronavirus vaccine to be rolled out, hopefully from September.

By then, should a coronavirus vaccine is available, will you vaccinate it?

Personally speaking, as a 30 year old young person, I will not vaccinate myself with Coronavirus, because:

1. It is just a small flu for young people, we won't die;
2. The vaccine is rushed and I cannot guarantee if I vaccinate myself, I will be immune to Coronavirus and not get killed by the vaccine;
3. The coronavirus vaccine is just a step to reopen our borders so that we can travel overseas again.

I am not anti-vaxier, however I only think that Coronavirus vaccine is just a political ticket for politicians to explain to the public that they can now open the international borders again and ease off travel bubbles.

What do you think?

Russians and Chinese able to fly surely can afford the vaccine approved by the country they are visiting.

Serious question. If they can get it or rather how can they get it if the country that they are in does not have the vaccine approved by the country that they are visiting/returning home to? This applies to all countries and not just Russia or China

The USA stocking up on vaccines.

India producing the Russian vaccine.

Spain beginning Phase 3 trials of the Janssen vaccine.

The Brazilian President refuses to be vaccinated so deemed an anti-vaxxer.But then he has already had the disease.

yes money is a factor, but i would preferably choose the one that is the most safe and effective in dealing with the virus, as this can be life changing decision, compared to just costs alone.
Even though vaccines will be approved for general use, it seems due to the short / fast track process undertaken to date that safe and effective won’t really be observable for some months still.

I meant if i could choose the 1 i take... of course I trust the TGA which regulates the vaccines here in Australia that they are safe, but I would prefer the one that is the safest and the most effective of the ones that will be approved here in Australia

This is the priority vaccination table found on a website on who in the US will get vaccination first.
Whilst some make sense for example Healthcare professional, I don't think some so people should be on this list.
For example, it is totally ridiculous for people who smoke to receive priority for vaccination. So should I start learning smoking to ensure I can get vaccinated first and able to leave the country early?

Yes

Now with the BioNTech & Pizfer vaccine being available in UK, wonder will Australia follow suit soon if we did buy this vaccine for use here...

How long does it take to make a batch?

Weeks?
Months?

I presume it varies from vaccine to vaccine and production method.

What about CSL in Melbourne?

Priority?

That adds up to over 260 million people out of 335 odd million people. Though overlap I would assume will make it less.

CSL is producing the Oxford vaccine now and will produce the UQ vaccine. They both are really not too different from the flu vaccine so easy for CSL to produce.

For those that think Australia is a laggard in securing Covid vaccines.Very few countries have secured more per head of population than Australia.

Though the USA is not on that graph and they have secured just over 300% on a population basis.

And doses obtained for some other countries.

I forgot about this thread. IIRC I read the OP and ran away.

When vaccine arrives in January 2021, will you get vaccinated?
No, because I won’t be far enough up the priority list, and doubtful it will be available in AUS that soon, so looks like a trick question. However I will get it as soon as I can and hopeful I can do it in April, prior to travel in May/June

cheers skip

I expect most family members will be vaccinated by end of July due to being in front line medical, age for some, and medical conditions for others.

Wow I could stop going to the gym and eat processed junk food to get fat and bump myself up the line too.

Great to see being lazy is rewarded in the US ;)
